  1. Idler pulley. Got tired of the whining under the hood and got it replaced on my SEL last year.
  2. I actually found a way to get the most out of your car (Some steps are omitted, but easy to figure out): 1. Insert key into ignition and start engine 2. Place car in drive and press accelerator 3. Follow speed posted limits or whatever makes you comfortable 4. Drive & enjoy 5. Arrive at destination (important safety tip: turn off ignition and remove key and lock doors)
  3. I purchased a set of Cooper ZeonRS3-A's ($110) on my ride a few weeks ago from Uniroyal GTZ All-Season. So far, I really like the quiet ride, road grip, and handling rolling up and down the highways. I've been impressed with how they've performed in rainy weather with solid feel and traction.
  4. It will have "No Phone" until you pair you mobile device with the system. Look in the SYNC packet that's with your owner's manual for step by step instructions.
  5. I'm currently running Uniroyal Tiger Paw GTZ on my 2010 SEL. Good tire that has performed well on the daily commute and summer and weekend road trips, on both dry and wet conditions. However, I'm planning on switching over to either Goodyear Assurance Comfortred Tourning or Pirelli Cintarato P7 All Seasons. Both have 70,000 mi. warrenties and offer smooth quiet rides.
  6. I recently experienced the same thing on my 2010 SEL when accelerating out or left handed turns. Dealer tech. informed me I also had a cracked motor mount. Got them replaced along with the torque mount (recommended) out the door for $480.00. Hope this not a common thing on Fusions.
  7. To get an effective throw pattern, you need to adjust them so they're higher. It's not too difficult to do on your own. Someone posted the how to earlier. Hope it works out for ya...
  8. From the album: The Ride & Upgrades

6000K HIDs in headlights and foglights. White switchbacks in turn signals. Taken with iPhone...
  9. Agreed. Went the progression route others did...stock halogens, Silverstars, and finally HID's. The HID's really brighten up the road and was worth the investment.
  10. Here you go. These were taken in the parking deck at my place, looks much cooler with 6000K's (projector's & fogs) and switchbacks (white/amber). I still have amber side markers. BTW, no need to shout, dude....lol! All on: Parking on: Emergency/turn amber:
  11. Agreed! I went with 6000K's in my headlights and fogs with white/amber switchbacks. Looks so much better...... 1) All on 2) Parking only 3) Amber flashing

    car died

Mine did the same thing thing on the way in to work. It died, I stopped, waited about five minutes, started and made it all the way to the office. Heading home, I went about four miles before it stalled again. Luckily, I was able to make to my Ford dealer and the service manager told me what it sounded like, and sure enough, the next day, they confirmed the throttle body was shot. I pick up my car two days later and $548.22 lighter in the wallet. Cant wait to get back behind the wheel.
  13. Welcome! Like Public said, you have to have insurance before driving off the lot. Most places you can simply call your carrier or even do it online. Enjoy your ride!
  14. I have 6000k (diamond whites) HID's in the DRLs and fogs and it really lights up the highway at night. If you have stock projectors and they are aimed them correctly, they will not blind oncoming drivers without diminishing the lights throw patterns. I use a local shop in Houston (http://www.thehidfactory.com/ Shameless plug....lol) that does nothing but HID & LED work on anything with wheels.
  15. Just ordered a pair from PartsGeek.com. Purchased right and left assemblies with shipping was still less than $450. Went to a local shop and they wanted 260 a piece and then they didn't have the passenger side in stock....
  16. I have them installed on my 2010 SEL and they look great with the all-around HID's (6000K). White on and amber flashing. Have not been pulled over by any law enforcement here in Houston
  17. Had a local shop that specializes in HID installs do both head and fog lights on my 2010 SEL, and I have not had any BOW's. I also had them install a DRL capacitors so they wouldn't flicker or disable them.
  18. Just completed the change outs of my 2010 SEL, and the compliments have been great. I did all the same with mine before even seeing your pics. Got one question, though, do your switchbacks have an intermittent "strobe" effect, where the white flashes when the turn signals are on at night?
  19. No. I recently had a shop that specializes in HID installation and retrofits do my headlights and fog lights with 6000K bulbs. As for the DRL's they were flickering because of the low voltage. Had to get DRL capacitors installed and now everything works fine. I have DRL and diamond white headlights and fogs. BTW, be sure to do a proper aiming adjustment because it makes them even more effective and not blinding to on-coming drivers.
  20. I started on Ebay for the license plate LED's, but discovered there is a shop in Houston that sells LED's and they do HID conversions and retrofits for any car, truck or motorcycle. I now have LED's inside and out and recently installed HID's in headlights and fog lights on my 2010 SEL. The overall brightness now compares very well to the Mercs, BMW's and other that have factory HID lights. Couple of neighbors already asked where I got mine done. I have to say the ride looks awesome!
  21. Got my headlights, fog lights, and LED switchbacks installed today. Before leaving, the DRL's were flickering. After the guy installed warning cancellors and the problem was solved. I have regular DRL on and full HID when it gets dark. BTW, the install for the full package?? $50-bucks! Here's the finished product. The look kicks ass!! The 'greenish' look around the fogs are due to the angle I shot the pic.....
  22. It's a bit of a process, if you take the time and do it right and so that it fits your needs, the road will be illuminated quite nicely. After some trial and error, I finally adjusted both my headlights and fog lights correctly, and added SilverStar Ultras, so now I have a brighter and farther light throw pattern in front of my car. I can't wait to see how brighter and cooler it will be once I install 6000K HID's.
  23. Like the looks and get compliments from people who have been the car, both day and night...
