  1. Thanks so much for everything FusionDiffusion!! :beerchug: I am going to try everything suggested, will try and clean the filter tonight since that looks like a job I can do myself without messing up, hope to find the tuner before the weekend and will have the sleeve put back in before taking back to Ford. Hope to have a good update by Monday!
  2. Thanks again for all your help FusionDiffusion!! Sorry, yes I am using a Steeda CAI. The mechanic at Firestone checked the filter and the sensor, didn’t look like there was much oil or anything on it but said it might cause a few lost MPGs, I know new tires sometimes cause a drop also but not the range I have. Right now I am down about 150miles per tank over the last few months while Firestone says my alignment is good, brakes are not too tight or any stuck calipers (I know next to nothing, or how to check anything myself… ) Ford has checked the transmission twice since I had the power loss issues, sometimes the RPM didn’t even seem to move that much when I would punch the gas, like there was a delay or something. Is it possible there is an issue with the tune itself? Or maybe if Ford tried to re flash the engine in some manner without saying anything when checking on the transmission? I ordered from Steeda with my make, model and vin and had someone who knew what they were doing run it even though it was a very simple process. The problem now is I can’t find where the tuner is so I can set it back to factory before going back to Ford. Hope to be able to go through my whole house over the weekend since I know its somewhere in my house but want to wait until I find it in case this is the root of my problem or have Ford to tell me the tune voids the warranty…
  3. wow... I just read this, I used one in Marlton area that is not on this list but still will look into, it seemed that the car ran louder on Lukoil but thought it might have to do something with their blend of 93 being different than Sunocos. Thanks! I do know that last night I filled up and says I’m getting about 230 miles out of a full tank, a few more months at this rate ill either be broke, or out of gas before I leave the station. I know the sport isn’t a hybrid, but it’s also not a SUV. The guy at firestone thought it could be something to do with the air filter being wet and dry but even he said that would throw a code before losing that much gas mileage. I was going to try a tune-up and see if maybe cleaning it out would fix the problem but after getting about a $300 quote I think I’ll let Ford take another gander under warranty for free to see if this would even fix the problem...
  4. Hi, First want to apologize that this is so long, and incoherent, I would like to thank anyone in advance who even bothers to read this whole mess, much less actually responds... Not sure where to start since I know very little about cars but I had a CAI/Tuner mapped for 93 Octane and try to only use Sunoco stations. Recently I was starting to have issues with what felt like transmission, or power loss in pickup and the car sounding a little more noisy then I was used to so I brought it to Ford and nothing was found. I was told that I needed new tires, I ended up getting Bridgestone Potenza all season tires and new front brakes. Also I noticed when I make a sharper right hand turn (both normal and higher speeds) my car started to make kind of a squealing sound like a belt or something, then almost like something was grinding sound. The sound would still stay while the car was not in motion but would go away after I stopped and restarted it. I don’t know if any of this is related to my problems since before the new tires my car seemed to be dropping MPG and power, going as low as 17-18MPG. After the tires I noticed it even more and sometimes it’s as low as 13 MPG. I took it to Ford but they didn’t find anything that day, Ford said they couldn’t find any problems but wanted to take it for a few days to drive and re create the issues I was having with power loss so I wanted to have the breaks done first. The car seems to pull to the left a little but I had my alignment done when I got the tires done, then rechecked when I got the brakes put on, then re rechecked a few days later to see if any of this was caused by tires or brakes. Firestone did the work and they could not find anything wrong with the alignment, tires, brakes or calipers. Since the MPGs were dropping before I had any work done, along with the power loss issue I am ready to go back to Ford again but wanted to know if any of this sounds familiar to anyone?? Few extra details:, a few months before this issues started I was really low on gas and had to use a lukoil, still filled up with 93 but according to the dashboard estimate I got about 430 miles from that tank instead of usually around 340-360, after that I used Sunoco and when my MPG were dropping noticeably I tired Lukoil another time but didn’t improve anything. Not sure if that was a fluke, or something else? I also had to get a new battery recently because the other died after only a little over a year, I was having electrical issues but Ford never found anything.
  5. I never even thought to ask, when I first saw the car there was no dealer logo and just assumed it would stay that way. I am going to give it a go this weekend with the weather so nice. I am not sure how I would feel about having a logo drilled into my car even if I loved my dealer. I dont know, I just am a little paticular with anything I buy that cost me more than a weeks pay.
  6. I dont have fishing line, will try dental floss and some goo gone but have to look into a heat gun. I just dont want to mess up the paint and have a permanent reminder
  7. I really should have got them to do it there, don't want to go back and have to wait for them to do it but might be the best bet if I dont want to risk damage or pay... best part about it was they had to get the car I wanted from another dealer, they put their decal on it even though I picked it up the same day it arrived..
  8. Thanks, I will definitly have a go this weekend, . For the most part I think I just have bad luck there, but other issues I should have checked the paperwork again before I signed, I really think once its off the car I will feel a lot better since I still love the car
  9. I will look into this, I use the fishing line to get in between the decal and the paint right? Somebody told me to use cold not heat but that did not sound right. Thanks!
  10. Also, if anyone knows a safe way to get a dealer decal off without damaging the paint I would really appreaciate it. With all the issues I have had with this dealer its kinda like a smack in the teeth having to see I am paying for them to advertise on my car. I would recommend the car, just not the dealer. Thanks again!
  11. I am sure he is correct in "what a dealer would say" but since I have owned many cars and have had many rocks hit my windows I am aware of rock damage, and sounds. There was no point of impact and the crack could not be felt on either the inside or outside of the vehicle. Since the crack was noticed on a Sunday I had to wait to have if brought in, I took pictures and video which show the diffrence in the crack from when it started, to what it looked like before it was driven to the dealer in case any road vibrations would cause more or different damage to the stress point. When I first noticed the crack it was from the edge of the windshield where the trim is, not only is there is no damge to the paint in that area, but that was nowhere near where the flake the dealer pointed as the POI. Not sure how a rock would be able to damage a windshield about a foot away from where the crack started and then only show where the rock hit once the crack made its way back to it but it sounds to me that "a rock hit it" happened to a few other people who are saying it is the trim itself. I am holding on to all my paperwork and pics in case this ever becomes a documented issue.
  12. Thanks, this pics did help,I rechecked in my garage with a brighter light, its a Carlite windshield that says laminated and solar tint but doesn't say acoustic anywhere on it, the decal letters are small black bold on the bottom of the passenger side but then under that in a clear etching, (or maybe the black lettering was rubbed off?) I see a very faint "soundscreen", why would they hide that? Does anyone else know of any other Carlite windows that have the same thing? Thanks again!
  13. I dont remember if the original had a marking for it, but when I googled pics I saw others saying it rather obviously. I checked the other windows in the car and dont see anything that says it either... not sure but even if the glass is the same I definitely can hear the difference now and its like a dentist drill for my ear. They keep telling me there is only one glass used in the 2010 sport but I really hate this dealership and am bias against anything they tell me. Every issue I have had with the car so far has either been my problem, up to their standards and wouldn't do anything about or they just couldn't replicate my issue when they tested. Right now I am still having issues with a passenger window that has a wind sound coming in at highway speeds only, cant be normal or the other windows (including the one next to my ear) would also have this sound. The shift points seem to be rough, from a start sometimes the RPM's have to go over 2500 before the car feels like it kicks in and moves, other times it feels fine though. last week I thought I had it in the manual or select shift gear, it sounded like the engine was winding like it was stuck in first and the RPMs almost hit up to 6 before droping back and engine kicking in. I still love the car but hate my dealership, they have lied to me openly in the past so even if they are telling the truth on things now I am skeptical. Thanks a
  14. Thanks! I have emailed Ford and Carlite themselves to see what they show. It is a little tricky and maybe it has to do with the trim or molding (which I think originally was the cause for the crack in the first place), maybe that was changed and now I am hearing sounds that before were not there. I definitely hear the wind more, and there has been wind advisory warnings here in the past few months that I could tell by steering but not as noisy as this seems. I don't notice it until I hit highway speeds, but I will definitely check other Fusion Sport decals to see if the windows match. I was told that this year/Model only has one and that is what is on my car now.
  15. Hey, I need help from someone that knows about replacement parts. Sunday morning I go out to my car and there is a crack starting at the top of my windshield, down a little below the rear view mirror area, and then back upwards kind of like a backwards "J" , there really is no impact point or anything except a tiny flake that when the dealer looks at says it was hit by a rock. (the car was sitting in my driveway when this happened, and I would think if something caused this kind of damage it would have to leave some damage at the point of impact). Anyway I am getting off my own topic, long story short the dealer said rock, I disagree, take pics, ask if there is any defects to this model ford or windshield itself and am told no. I pay for new windshield, and tell them I want the exact same one that was originally on the car. When I pick up my car from dealer I look at the windshield and it looks the same, but when I drive home I hear the wind a lot more than I am used to. I called them back to make sure they used the same Carlite soundscreen acoustic or what was on before and they assure me it is, that there is only one windshield for this model car and I can tell by looking at the carlite decal. Problem is when I look at the decal it says Carlite, solar tint and laminated ... but don't see anything offhand that says acoustic or soundscreen. Since it might just be me noticing sounds I ignored before just because I am not listening for them now, has anyone else had any issues, or know where I can find the part number for the original windshield? searching google I see decals that say soundscreen, so far I can't find anything on mine that does but I'll look more when I get home to make sure. The part number they gave me really doesnt bring up much, and what it does bring up says 2006-2009? Can anyone help, or point me in a direction that might? Thanks in advance!
