  1. Hi. So, I had a 2008 fusion like 4 years ago (that's why I have this name). Two weeks ago I purchased a blue 2013 1.6 :D I have two questions about it.. This is my first ever turbo car that I have owned. It seems to idle a bit rough, I'm wondering if it's normal or not. Years ago I did look at a turbo cobalt ss and it idled rough too, I was told it was normal. Other than that I have no experience with turbo cars. I wasn't able to get that great of a video, but you can see the tach. I was trying to show the engine, but you can't really tell on video. https://youtu.be/sBuGhw_ZvMA Second, my passenger door rattles like crazy behind the door handle. My b2b warranty runs out in 1 month, so I need to get this fixed before then. I know that it is tsb 13-5-3, but how do I go about getting it fixed? Just call the local ford service department and tell them I want that done or?
  2. I did look over the owner's manual :P At least.. most of it. I obviously didn't read every exact word lol I am going to look at it again.. I found it. Going to try it now, will edit this post :D Edit: I tried it, it didn't work...and the car is still doing it after driving it for about 40 miles. I'll wait until Saturday (that's when he said to call him either way) I guess.
  3. Got the car back this morning. Asked the service department if I would be able to get reimbursed for the towing since it has the roadside assistance and the repairs were covered under warranty. They said to get them a receipt and they would see what they could do. I got a receipt from the tow truck driver and lets just say he isn't a very happy camper. Says now he will have to pay taxes on it, which sucks all the profit out of it. Car runs good now, but if you are sitting still idling it's almost like it tries to die like every 20 seconds (the rpms go down to about 500 from the normal 800ish) and then back up. I took it back right away and they said it might be because the battery was disconnected for so long, it might be charging. Drive it a couple days and call them. I drove the 20 miles home and had the car running for about 20 minutes besides that, it still does the rpm drop thing. I'll wait a few days and see what happens.
  4. Last time I talked to the dealership was yesterday (12/5) at around 2pm. They finally have all the parts, apparently. The guy told me that another guy was working on my car all day, and still was (at the time I called him). He asked him when he expected my car to be done, and he said "best case scenario" would be late today (12/6). It's 3:35 now and it's still not done and I have no way of picking it up today (if it does get done) now as they will be closed before I could get there. Also said that they would try to get it done as soon as possible, they would be working on it around the other appointments. Every time that I have called them for updates, they tell me "we really want to get your car done, it's taking up space and a lift that we can't use for other cars until your car is done..the part still isn't here but believe me we want to get it done" He said that "Bill" is working on it... around the other appointments. My appointment was 11/21 at noon. I would think they would have everybody working on it first priority, not around the other appointments that were made after mine. He said if he doesn't call by noon Wednesday (12/7) to call him. Why does this dealership seem sketchy to me..? If I don't have it tomorrow by noon, I am calling Ford. Edit: They just called me, 3:46. Of course... Ah well, I'll be there at 8 am tomorrow to get my car.
  5. Still waiting.. been calling them like every other day to see if it's done yet. Nope, "still waiting on that bearing" Last time I talked to them was on Tuesday at like 2pm. The guy said that the part was suppose to come in tomorrow (which would of been Wednesday, 11/30), told me to call late in the day to see if it is done which it should be but it depends on if the part comes in early in the day or later in the day. I was asleep and didn't get a chance to call them. Was going to call them early today to see if it was done, but my alarm didn't go off because the electric went off I guess. Called them at like 3:45.. still waiting on that bearing. Asked them whenever we took it to them to get if fixed if they had a lender, they said if they did whenever it was dropped off then they would give me one to use. They didn't have any then. I asked today if they do and the guy said that they only have 5 lenders and they are all reserved until the middle of December. This sucks, I'm not old enough to rent a car (and I shouldn't have to, anyways..) We (I still live at home with my mother) only have 1 other car. Luckily we both work at the same place, but she goes into work an hour earlier than I do.. so I have to take her to work and then wait around an hour until I can go in. Then whenever we get off she has to wait around an hour for me to get off before she can go home to go to bed. Which means that she loses an hour of sleep in the morning, which she needs so she can sleep a little before her other job. I'm not a happy camper.
  6. They still have my fusion I just called and the guy that answered the phone said that they are waiting for a bearing that is on back order... Dang.. I need my car Maybe they will be extra helpful with reimbursing me since it's taking so long. Of course they are closed tomorrow (Thursday) so it will be at least 5 days that they have been working on my car if they get it done Friday. This sucks!
  7. Thanks for the info bbf2530 Yeah, I was not given the wallet card.* I was not aware of the roadside assistance until after I posted this thread and I somehow found a site that mentioned it, dang.. I'll ask them about it next time I call (I called once because it was 3 pm and they were suppose to look at it at noon, by 3 they didn't call me so I called them to see what was up, they said they didn't call because it would be covered under warranty), or when I pick the car up. I wasn't even given the number for the keypad on the door whenever I purchased the car, but the dealer gave me 2 keys, one of them didn't even look close to the right key (it didn't work, either) and had a separate key fob. I let the dealer know and he had a key made for me (and he paid for it) and the locksmith got the keypad number for me :D Anymore advice would be great :P bbf2530, if you read this again, what do you think would be the chance they will reimburse me? I doubt they will, but I think they should since it is still under the warranty
  8. I'm new here. I posted 1 thread, I think; introducing myself kind of. I meant to post pictures in that thread, but they are on my phone and I'm too lazy to transfer them to my computer, sorry . I have a 08 fusion sel, 5spd. 4cyl I have owned this car for almost 2 months now, put ~2k miles on it and spent about 5 days in it (running/driving). I love this car. However, on 11/14 I drove somewhere and noticed that it was really hard to get it into reverse. I went to put it into reverse and it was like there was no reverse whenever I tried to put it there, it was like just nothing (I couldn't even go down to where reverse is). I shut the car off and restarted it, same thing. Tried a couple more times to get it into reverse and it still wouldn't work. Eventually I went to 1st gear to see if I could and it worked ok, tried reverse and it worked. I went to where I was going and I could smell something weird through the vents, and whenever I got to my destination I could smell it outside the car too. The dealership was closed so I couldn't call them and ask what to do or anything. I got done at where I was and went to go home and it was even harder to get into reverse, I had to go through all of the gears a couple times before it would eventually go into reverse. I looked under the car before I even started it before I got ready to go home, everything looked fine from what I could tell. I went home and the next morning I looked under the car and it still looked fine. I went to leave and it was almost impossible to get it into reverse, so I shut it off and jacked the car up. There was a wet spot on the plastic thing under the engine (I don't know what this plastic thing is call, but I think most cars have it) and brown/black stuff dripping from a hole (that was obviously cut in the plastic thing on purpose) whenever the car was jacked up (not dripping whenever it was not jacked up). The car is still under the power train warranty until 60k or February of 2013.I went in and called the local (20 miles away) ford dealership, they set up and appointment for Monday (11/21) and noon, but said if I brought it earlier then they could maybe get it in earlier if anybody cancelled their appointment. I couldn't drive it, so I took it to them on Tuesday. I didn't want to risk driving it and messing it up worse, so I had it towed. They looked at it yesterday and they said that a "pin broke and went through the casing" and it will be covered under warranty. I have no ideal exactly what that means, but okay.. I guess I could of just asked the question, but I felt that I had to explain that part first. Here's the question... Is there any way that I can get them to reimburse me for the towing cost since it was covered under warranty? It was "only" $75, but I'm only 20 and I am not exactly rolling in money..
  9. A little under a month ago I bought a 2008 fusion sel This is my first car. - It is the white color (although I don't think it's actually white??? - will explain this later**) - 5 spd, 2.3l 4cyl (really wish it was the 6cyl but the 4 has some extra power and on a 300mile highway trip I got 35 mpg) - 50k miles Whenever I bought it, it had hid headlights (which I thought were factory, as I know that some milan's come with factory hid's) but I guess they aren't. The back window was/is slightly tinted, which I also thought was maybe factory (but then I figured it wasn't because the back side windows would most likely be tinted too, if it was from factory) The tail lights were/are tinted also.. I looked at the back window a couple days after I bought it, and I can see where the tint was cut (not factory). I have been a member here for a couple weeks, and been reading some .. and see people talking about having problems with the dot matrix..? From what I can tell, whoever did my back window had no problem at all with it. Whenever I get the extra money, (and the registration for the car) I want to tint the side windows, and get some darker tint on the rear. I don't want to give LEOs extra reasons to pull me over with no sticker on my plate (if they can't see the sticker in the back window). After that, I am going to get some subs car has a giant trunk, needs something in it hehe.. **I found a similar fusion (it was only the se, I believe) and I parked next to it and took some pictures. Both cars were relatively clean. Mine almost has an off white color to it o.O -- were there 2 white color choices?? I will post pictures later, too tired right now.. have to get 2 hours of sleep before work tonight lol
