  1. Bought mine in 2008 with under 10k....just hit 100k and the car runs the same as day one. I4 5spd base. Ive also drove the HELL out of this thing, one of the best cars ive owned!!
  2. I get 33 mpg hwy running 80ish mph. Not sure about city.
  3. Just thought i would start a thread about the 2.3 Fusion owners out there who have hit 100k and the experiences you have had with the car, good or bad. My car, 07 5spd that just hit 100k, and i can't say enough good about this car. I have put a HARD 100k on my car and the only problem i have had is one dead battery and a set of tires. From the first day of owning the car( bought used with 7k miles in 08) i have drove the car very hard, its a 5spd and it has seen its share of no lift shifts from 1st to 4th gear, and e-brake power slides. I get a steady 33mpg on the highway, and the only thing i've changed on the car is 15 percent tint, removing the spare tire, jack, and spare tire carpet cover(trunk carpet) which feels like a good 50lbs of weight removed. To this day car is flawless, transmission is as smooth as day one, and engine runs as quiet as ever. I am currently in the process of upgrading my wheels to the 17x7 aluminum Fusion wheels( Has the 16 inch steel now) One bright spot was recently "racing" my co-worker in his 08 Golf with the 2.5ltr 5cyl in "Sport Mode" and staying dead even until hitting the limiter at 112mph. And yes i know....4cyl Fusions are NOT FAST, but it did feel good staying neck and neck with a more powerfull, DSG sport mode auto. ( I no lift shifted when ":racing" himLOL) So thats my little bit of info, just wanted to see if others out there have had as good of an experience with their Fusions at a high mileage and would like to brag a little about their cars!!!
  4. Thank you, i ididnt know that there was that much room for error when it came to the speedo. And i paced myself with two cars, one explorer, the other a VW. Both were done by setting the cruise controls to different speeds (35-45mph and 75-80mph) and found it to be the same with both cars. But now that i know there is going to be a +/- of 2-3mph at any given speed makes it not a concern anymore. I'm sure its probably been the same way in other vehicles that ive owned, ive just never noticed it. Thanks for the helpful info!!
  5. So i have had my 07 Fusion for a few yrs and noticed a while back that whenever i pass a speed zone where they radar you and show you how fast your going it is always slower than what my speedo says. SO i have had a few people pace me at different speeds and every time its the same thing, from 30ish-50ish its about 2-3mph off, then at hwy speeds, 75-85mph it gets worse, around 5-6mph. My question is, and hopefully i dont sound completlely stupid when i ask, does the fact that the other 4 cyl fusions come with a 17 inch wheel and the cars speedo is calibrated for the 17 from the factory and not the 16? I just ordered a set of the 17 inch aluminum OEM wheels just to improve the looks, but will the taller tire help this at all?? Thanks for any feedback!!
