  1. Right on.. look forward to hearing it. If it works this easy i'll be doing it for sure.
  2. So you're saying that if you install the SEL headlight switch with auto posistion *without* installing the sun sensor , anytime the key is turned on it will turn on your tail/headlights. But if you install the switch *and* the sun sensor it will turn them on only at night?
  3. Ah yes. Guess it all depends on how the switch is wired. If it has a ground side control.. or if it's just an open/closed multi-point switch on the hot side.
  4. Sounds relatively easy if you have the schematic. Primary side of relay would have power wire tapped into key-hot power.. then a ground to the firewall. Secondary side would tap into power feed to the switch. The only tricky part would be tapping in to all outputs of the switch.. as it is multi-position. Secondary side output would have to tap into the output leads from headlight switch for park lights, headlights.. and fogs if you wish. Would just be a matter of finding the wires corresponding to switch position i would think.
  5. You need at least a capacitor. The voltage is pulsed and will cause hard turn on and possible flickering out. I had the same issue on my 2010.. so first i installed a relayed wire harness. This worked great to fix the hard start up problem but i noticed the relay began buzzing loudly shortly after starting the car. Came to find out this car pulses the voltage to the headlight to prolong halogen bulb life so i had to put a capacitor link in-line with the relay. This website: http://www.retrosolutionsllc.com had the relay harness and capacitor link.. i believe it was $18 shipped.. works like a dream.
  6. I'd love to do this conversion as well .. i have a 2010 SE with no heated mirrors and the suckers are always fogged over in the mornings. If you find any info please let me know
  7. I got it from partscheap.com ... $275 shipped. Installed it the other day.. was very straight forward.. hardest part to me was getting the hood switch lead thru the firewall.
  8. Thanks a lot for the info chris. The links to install directions on fords accessorie sight no longer work.. but i did find instructions on partscheap.com for the non bi-directional system.. those instructions have the setup for both systems in it. Looks pretty straight forward.. thanks again.
  9. Hello all. I've searched the forums and didn't find an answer to this exact question so hope i'm not repeating. I have a 2010 Fusion SE and i would like to install the bi-directional remote start from ford on it. Main question is.. does the kit come with everything i need, or do i need to order a PATS interface kit to go along with it? Also.. any info on how easy this is to install would be greatly appreciated.. would like to save some cash and do it myself if possible. Thanks again.
