  1. Nobody else can help me with this??
  2. Thanks Bert, I appreciate your help. It may be the best way to go.
  3. I would believe that if it were a pulley problem you would hear some squeaking. If at any point your a/c did freeze up, that could be enough to throw the belt. Needless to say, it can make you crazy.
  4. For my 09 SE. There is simply too many to choice from. I don't want an expensive custom fit one, just a good quality cover to keep the sun and pollen off my car. It would be great if it were waterproof as long as it doesn't scratch the paint. I found one from Classic Accessories, but I would like some advice. Can anyone suggest a car cover that doesn't cost an arm?
  5. I have a 2009 SE which has the centre section of the dash in carbon fiber. Where can I find a kit to finish off the rest of the interior that will match the gloss/finish of the ford look? Thanks for your help.
  6. Thank you, I really appreciate your help with this. It is exciting to get rid of this and change it to the easy way. THANKS AGAIN!
  7. PedaltoMetal - are these Ford part numbers?
  8. Over the past weekend I had an opportunity to install my Steeda Hood Strut kit and wish to give all of my fellow forum members my experience with the installation. First and foremost, I wish to express my appreciation to Don Cook at Steeda for his exemplary customer service. These folks are certainly centered at providing a great experience in helping with even the most minor of concerns. From the initial point of my order, my kit arrived within a week. With the weather here still not being perfect for playing around in the theater of the unknown, I would have been pleased if they took their time. Never the less, with kit in hand and an above freezing day, I went off to do the job. Now with Andrew’s pictures and Steeda’s instructions, I figured I could get through this in an hour or so. From the time I popped the hood, to the time I closed it with the kit installed took 35 minutes. This includes the extra time to make sure that everything was assembled with tender loving care, and I have to say that it’s not a bad idea to have some else with you to steady the hood while you do the job. I am amazed at how perfect it works and the simple genius of making this kit workable for even the most modest of “Do it yourselfer’s”. Not to mention the satisfaction of being able to remove the prop rod and placing it on a shelf in the garage. The end result is that the hood opens up with a minor motion and is held securely with plenty of room to play around the engine compartment without worrying about hitting into an inconvenient prop rod. I have to say I find it a little funny that Ford uses struts to open the trunk, but doesn’t offer the same feature for the considerably larger and heavier hood. I could not be happier with the end result and would like to thank Steeda once again for a great product.
  9. WOW! rtcaravan!! I would absolutely love to pitch this all together and use a basic screw on filter. Does anyone know if you can change out the canister/ replacement media system and use a regular oil filter? Does anyone make a conversion?
  10. I have heard several complaints about the plastic oil filter( media replacement ) housing on the 4 cylinder motor. The main one obviously that it cracks. Does someone out there make a replacement unit made from alumium?
  11. I have a Mazda and 2 Hyundai's besides my Ford. They all three have them, and I have not noticed any of what you mentioned. My point was that enthusiasts spend money to dress up the engine compartment and although they don't do anything for performance, they just look good. They do protect sensitive components if you wash off your engine.
  12. I imagine they save millions of dollars in profit by this overlooked shortcut. Just the way they dress up the the 4 cylinder ( sarcastic) by using a fancy plastic engine cover/shroud. Mostly every car company uses them. They don't serve any purpose but to make the engine look good and to hide all the ugly. Some should come up with one, they would sell.
  13. I was on the phone yesterday and ordered a kit from Don @ Steeda for my 2009. He is originally from Michigan (where I am) and was very helpful. I can't wait to install it. I have always found the hood to be too heavy and long for a simple prop stick rod. Thanks to Steeda and Don.
  14. Thanks for your input and help. I think I will take my chances since my miles are so low. I appreciate your help.
