I am having a problem with my 2010 Ford Fusion. I have the 2.5L engine with about 48,000 miles. Everytime I refuel the car, when I try to start the car it quickly starts up and then sputters off. After I try a second time, it starts right up and runs smoothly. For the next several starts, everything works flawless. Then when I am running low on fuel, I refuel and it starts over again. I get gas, then the first crank starts up then sputters off. The second crank is perfect and the process repeats. One time the engine light came on while this was happening and it read Bank 1 Sensor 1 (02 Oxygen Sensor). Because this came up only once, I am not sure if this is the problem. Also, the car has been doing this for about the past 10,000 miles and now I am out of warranty so it's probably going to be expensive to fix. I have been to a few Ford Dealerships and about 4 or 5 other car places (Autozone, Autoparts etc) and nobody knows what the problem is. The Ford dealership said they had had about 5 other Fusions come in with the same problem and they do not know how to fix it. I am beyond frustrated because this is a problem that was under warranty and because Ford doesn't know what the problem is, I am out of warranty now. Please help if you know any information about this issue. Also, If you are having this issue, I would like to write a letter to Ford to see if a recall could be sent out. Thanks!
