  1. I heard the exact same thing! It sounded like a broken shock but more subdued. The only ways I could reproduce it was to drive on a bumpy road at different speeds but usually only at around 60 km. The other way was to physically grab the tire with both hands at the top and give it a rocking motion to and fro. Takes a lot of force. A soft clunking/thump can be felt, almost like one of the lug nuts are loose. Hard to reproduce at Ford because they're not about to repeat my same action, and their road test could not duplicate the sound. They didn't doubt me though and they put it on the lift. Make an appointment and they will check it out. Replaced some shock part under warranty. Not sure what it was because the work order was kind of vague. I'll look to see if there is a part number.
  2. I'd see it as a safety reserve. If the next service station is far away, you'd probably make it without running out of fuel and leaving you stranded. That being said, if there is a known problem about this like "akirby" said, then I'd look into that.
  3. It sure gives an idea... how about a shot looking from the driver's view, whole dash... Picture is good enough to see!
