  1. The fuses are good on it, as I confirmed that when I went to my buddy's shop, and the green light lit up suggesting it was connected appropriately. So, in other words, I should pull the obd port off the bracket to allow the scanning tool a "full insert" into the receptacle? It's just weird that certain information will appear and other info will not.
  2. Hey all Got my IL emissions notice for my 2012 Sport with 44k. Went to the station and it failed due to being unable to "communicate." Took it over to my buddy's shop and he plugged in his scanner; same thing. The VIN, make and model comes up, but it apparently does not read any of the sensors/parameters. I have not had any power interruptions that would make it in "not ready" mode, no bad fuses, DTC or anything else. In fact, the car has been running beautifully, minus an arcing wire leading into the TB last year that was fixed without further issues. I am now obligated to bring it into Ford for this. Any thoughts on this? It is within the 5 year/60k powertrain, so I'm hoping this will be covered under that or the clean air act. Any recalls or bulletins? Questions or comments? Thanks
  3. 3rd time's a charm: electrical arc on one of the wires. Replaced the harness going into the TB. All good. Finally
  4. Wow. Going back in tomorrow again. Went limp, threw the wrench light. I was able to restart and get home without it doing it again. Luckily i was local. I have lost complete faith in this car and am looking for answers. Maybe a short? Bad wire harness? Ecu?
  5. P2112 code thrown for this latest dealer stop (i don't have the codes from the 1st stop) Here's my question though: have these 3.5 TBs been upgraded over the old, factory ones?
  6. Got some news today: looks like it's a failed tb. The sensor was working intermittently, hence they figured the pedal was the culprit originally. Now it appears stuck this time around. Luckily I had the opportunity to talk with the service manager, and he's taking care of the new unit and labor, saving me $$$$.
  7. Oh, no check engine this time, only wrench
  8. Well, got the car back Wednesday night, just today, car goes into limp mode once again. Towed back. Won't get at it until Tuesday morning. Not happy
  9. As drolds said...the rep said the sensor failed. How much different are the TBs in the sport vs. the 2.5 and 3.0? I have to imagine that they are slightly bigger, and therefore a completely different part, but are they also prone to failure?
  10. Driving along in the Sport yesterday, and without warning, the car goes into limp mode. Wrench light and check engine light comes on. Pull off to the side of the road, turn off the car and restart. Car heads off normally, however, a mile later, same thing occurs. I have it towed to the dealer. I automatically think it's the TB based on the recall for the other models, and the well-known problems that these things have, although the 3.5 was never covered. Turns out, it is a defective throttle pedal, and not the TB. The service rep has never seen this in the fusion. Anyone ever heard of these things failing? Apparently it will be a few days before this part comes in.
  11. Yoko Advan Sport A/S went on a couple of days ago. Looks like we have a winner in the best bang for the buck category. I Couldn't wait to get those stock GYs off, and I bumped up to the 235/45. First impressions are that they are extremely smooth over rough patches and are relatively quiet. The 235 fills out the rim a lot better, but doesn't bulge over the top at all. The physical aspect is that these tires are obviously bigger, but not by much. Steering response is improved. No bad weather yet, and snow won't be seen for a long time. Compared to the UHP tires out there, these were relatively the cheapest and highest rated. MPGs are still TBD (Tirerack testers say you lose a bit with these), and speedo correction is also TBD until I get to a school zone radar site .
  12. Looks pretty good, FF. My only concern with those 7.5" width rims Ford inexplicably made was having the 235/45 tires mushroom or muffin-top over the side of the rim. Looks like it fits pretty well though.
  13. Thank you both for the input so far: Fusionff - How has the bumped up size worked out? Any problems? Can you post a pic of the tire/rim on this topic. I am personally interested to see what it would actually look like on my car.
  14. Wondering if you all can provide input on the Sport's tire possibilities: I'm approaching 30k and these GY RS-A tires are just garbage. Although I'm only in the caution area, it seems that I should be getting more mileage out of them. Snow traction has not been the best either. What I do want to do is bump the size from the stock 225/45/18 to 235/45/18. I think that the increase profile size is negligible and not only will I get more tread on the pavement, but it will fill the wheel well better too. My choices of tire (in order of preference) is listed below. 1) Yokohama ADVAN Sport A/S: cheapest tire, yet seems to be an overall winner in grip and performance 2) Continental Extreme Contact DWS: most expensive, but the tire tread pattern must provide excellent traction not only for dry conditions but snow as well 3) Hankook Ventus S1 noble2: Another reasonably priced tire and all around good tire which was recommended by a Tirerack tester himself. Thoughts and experience welcomed.
  15. Just contacted PS about their kits. Apparently, they only have the kits for the front. The rear kit is "in the process" but won't be available for a while.
