  1. No prob....fyi....I solved the problem by simply changing the dirty power steering fluid.
  2. Does anyone have any experience replacing the power steeing pump on a 3.5 L 2010 Sport?
  3. Sorry to cause some conFusion, I forgot to add in my post that I also added a custom tune to supplement the CAI. Your all correct in saying that a CAI system alone will add marignal if any power gains. I purchased the Steeda package & was skeptical about the claims so I took my car to the drag strip for a before & after test & cut my 1/4 mile time by a 1/2 second.
  4. I've driven them all. All things considered, the Sync system in the Fusion is the tie breaker. For me, it's a nice feeling not to have to mess w/a phone while driving. Additionally, I'm not sure abotu the resale value of the others, but the Fusion is respectable. Finally, if it's additional power you seek, you can always add a CAI system.
  5. Sorry I can't contribute to your post, but I am interested in where you got this diagram. Can you send me the link. I'm interested in adding a dump tube before the cat for drag racing & I wanted to find out the dia. of the pipe. Thanks
  6. Hey, my car's 2 yrs. old. You got a nice new one. Besides, hardly anyone gets paid what they're worth these days....unless your a tax cheat. Then you get appointed to a presidential cabinet position...lol
  7. Nice. It sounds like you left on him. Good job! I just ordered a cat-back system today. I'm not anticipating much of a power boost but I'm still anxious to see what happens. Keep it going!
  8. Thanks for the tips. I was considering getting some drag radials, but I did think I was making enough power to justify using them. I'll give it a shot.
  9. At the risk of sounding too anal, I want to attempt to make the top grille bar removable by replacing the existing (4) push pins with j-clips & grind off the little plastic retainer hooks on the back of the grille. The problem is that there is a tiny gusset that needs to be ground down to make room for the clips. The only way I can see to get at it is to remove the entire ass'y in order to do a nice, clean job. The reason I want to make the grille removable is that when I take it to the track it blocks the air scoop for the CIA system I installed. I know...sorry you asked.
  10. I'm in the process of making my top grille bar removable for the same reason. They weren't designed to be taken off & on. I'm worried about breaking it. So far, it's a little more than I bargained for, but I'll let you know how it turns out. One thing I was going to try is to launch in 2nd gear (in manual mode) to minmize tire spin then shift to auto the rest of the run. I guess it may depend on the track prep. Anyway....I keep you posted. Let me know how you make out.
  11. I'm new to the forum. I find this subject interesting. You've all made very good points. So I thought it may be prudent for me to weigh in on the subject. I recently installed a CIA w/a tune in my 2010 Sport. Prior to installation I took my car to the strip and made a few passes in bone-stock conditon of low 15's. I did this because I wasn't convinced of the power gains advertised on the Steeda website. Pursuant to the install I've run 14.79. This may seem like a marginal gain but I'm still educating myself on how to launch the car off the line. It can be tricky w/FWD & traction control off/on. Bottom line, there is a definite power gain. So I can't cry foul on Steeda for this application. The exhaust/cat-back is another matter. It's my understanding that there are other factors involved when measuring HP gain/loss like atmosphere, ambient temp. track temp, elevation and so on. So I've interrogated Steeda quite a bit & in their defense, it's difficult to estimate HP gains for the reasons i just mentioned. Anyway, I'm going to roll the dice on their cat-back system & see what happens....I'll keep you posted.
  12. I installed a Steeda CIA w/a tune. I ran the 1/4 mile in 14.80. Bone stock it ran low 15's. However, I'm still learning how to launch it. It can be tricky out of the hole w/the front wheel drive & traction control off/on. I've only been out once since I put it in so I still need to experiment a bit. Reviewing my time slips, I can tell you I was consistently around 9.6 @ the 1/8 mile & 74 mph. I word of caution though, if you have any other mods to your 3.5 L Sport, you may have to return it to stock if you decide to go the CIA route. I had a performance chip in mine & the Steeda tech. urged me to remove it before I installed the CIA Power Pak to ensure the maximum benefit. Hope this helps....good luck.....I'll let you know what I come up with on my next trip to the strip.
  13. I installed a CIA power pak on my own, so hopefully my abilities carry over to the exterior. Thanks for your helpful insight.
  14. I'm talkiong assembly. Upon my initial iispection yopu confirmed my concern....I have to remove the bumper cover. Is this something that can be accomplished by an amature or do you suggest someone w/body experience?
  15. Does anyone know where I can obtain instructions on how to remove the headlight ass'y from a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport? I already checked the owners manual.
