  1. Performance and safety. Looks aren't that important to me. Stock wheels and will hopefully be changing them soon to Enkei EKM3 18x8.
  2. Hello, I have a 2008 Ford Fusion V6 FWD. I am looking to upgrade by brakes to a big brake kit. Any suggestions on Brembo vs. Stoptech? Are there any fitment issues? Thank you.
  3. Yeah, the ride is more firm, and speed bumps are difficult, but I can now go around corners much quicker.
  4. So I know this discussion pretty much is over, but I figured I'd update anyone who looks anyway. So I installed Steeda's Rear Race Sway Bar, and it took about 2.5 hours. Now that I know what I am doing, I could probably do it again (if I would ever have to) in an hour. The improvement in the handling is pretty nice. At 35 mph, I can take corners that I would be unable to before. I'd say this and the lowering springs have made a huge improvement in the overfall handling of the car.
  5. Wow, I did not mean to start such an interesting discussion, though I am happy that I did; I learned a lot. Well can I ask then if a strut tower brace would still be worth it? I understand (I think) that because the front suspension of an 08 Fusion is not a strut (it is connected to the upper control arm which helps control lateral force, whereas a strut is directly to the lower control arm and deals with the lateral force itself?), the lateral load is not applied as much to where the towers are in the engine bay, therefore the tower brace is not worth it. If I may ask from your knowledge then, if the X-brace makes more sense because it would connect directly to the chassis? And would it reduce chassis flex more effectively than the tower brace? Thank you for all of your knowledge on the subject of Fusions/suspension/cars.
  6. I ordered the rear sway bar. Thanks for the information though. One more question; how hard was it to install the X-brace, and was it worth it?
  7. I have a 2008 SE V6 Fusion. I recently put a set of Eibach Pro Springs on, and it feels much better. So to continue with the idea of handling/suspension, I was going to buy either the Steeda Strut Tower Brace or the Steeda Race Rear Sway Bar. So I have a few questions: 1) Overall, which would you recommend to reduce understeer/cornering? 2) How difficult is it to install a rear sway bar (I have a mechanic's tool kit, but no rattle gun)? 3) Would I need to buy Steeda's endlinks? Could I just use the stock ones? And one last thing; ride comfort to me is not the biggest issue.
  8. After getting the timing down, I got my 0-60 to 6.25. And that's without changing the engine cooling temperature.
  9. I did do a K&N cold air intake (I filmed it, and did a frame by frame, brought 0-60 down from 6.9 to 6.65). I have decided that I am going to just stick with the Hypertech because it seems more likely to actually do anything. I will post any results I find once I install it. And thank you all very much for all of your advice.
  10. I recently bought a Hypertech 42009 Max Energy Performance Chip off of Amazon. After poking around, I found a chip for $200 (instead of $330) that offered 40hp and 40 ft/lbs of torque increase (vs. 15hp and 21 ft/lbs). Does this seem reputable? I can't find any reviews or other places that sell it. The link is: http://www.performancechiptuning.com/Stage+3+Performance+Chip+OBDII+Module/14/
  11. I recently bought a K&N CAI for my '08 SE V6. I found that it only added 1 mpg on average, but it added a decent amount of torque. I got mine for $235 on Amazon, and it only took about 2 hours for me to install with nothing but some basic tools. And for those of whom say it doesn't add any mpg's/power, my mpg reader went from 20-22 mpg (normal driving) to 22-23 mpg. And for the power, it dropped my 0-60 from 6.9 to 6.5.
