  1. '07 SE V6 AWD with 55K miles - no problems except for two burnt-out brake light bulbs. Original Michelins lasted about 40k-45K (I forget). Replaced with Michelin MXV4's. I just did front & rear pads & rotors last week (metal to metal). In hot weather the starter grinds just a tiny bit. Weeping right front axle seal. I should have these two documented at the dealership before the factory warranty is up. Otherwise, I love the car. John
  2. I'm running Mobil 1 5w20 in my '06 SE V6 AWD Fusion. At almost 26K miles I have no issues with the car. By accident my last oil change was about 10K miles since the previous change. I was getting nervous but the Fusion proved to be a trooper. I do purchase the 5-quart jug of Mobil 1 at WalMart for about $23.00 (then add one more quart separately). John
  3. I've got almost 16K miles on my '07 SE V6 AWD with no issues whatsoever. I bought it early last March (I live in Massachusetts) and took it through one snowstorm. I was very impressed with the AWD performance! This winter the car has proved stellar. The AWD is not just for snow but rain, sand and other loose surfaces. Make sure that the tech that you spoke with wasn't confusing the Fusion (with a Ford USA AWD system) with the Haldex AWD system used in the larger Fords. I work in the parts department of a large Volvo dealership where Haldex failures are quite common. Using the on-board system, my fuel mileage is a steady 22mpg. A bit down from the 24mpg that I got on my '00 Chevy Impala but I fully realize the usefulness and safety inherent in the AWD choice that I made. John
  4. I've changed the oil in my SE V6 AWD twice now. Two things: The factory oil filter was on very tightly. I work in a non-Ford dealership. I had to use one of the tech's three-pointed "claw" to dig into the filter to turn it. Also, the engine pipe gets hot very quickly and is located near the oil filter. I burned my arm in trying to turn the filter. Other than that - it's a breeze! Also, the Motorcraft oil filter can be purchased inexpensively at an Auto Zone type of store. John
