And to think I started it all with my silly key question. :o Then I guess the knowledge to understanding is the key.

OK, so the old adage is "I didn't see the forest for the trees." Can I get the #1 spot on this forum for asking the dumbest question? You see, it's like this: I'm going over this car, manual in hand, and simply being amazed at all the electronic gadgets that are present. (The car I traded in was a 2003 Taurus SE with virtually no bells and whistles.) So, you can say that technology swept by me while I wasn't looking and shazam it's 2012 and cars are now equipped with every conceivable electronic doodad imaginable. So, manual in hand, I'm trying to figure out what's what. I was enthralled with the mp3 playability of the radio and quickly made up a couple discs with hundreds of tunes to listen too. I was amazed at the 'message center' that spewed out information'. I was really impressed with a little 4 banger engine pumping 175 hp out of 152 cubes. Why, back in my day cars with even 1 hp per cube were awesome. (427 - 425 hp cars) Anyway, I'm getting off the topic of that 'strange looking eye lens sort of thing on my trunk'. I just went out and stuck my key in the hole and the trunk, (just like FusionDilffusion said), magically opened! What'll they think of next? I'm so embarrassed now, I'm going to go crawl into that trunk and not come out till the laughter dies down. Thanks for the replies, guys. It would have been worse if you'all had just ignored me. Hi, I joined the forum because I bought a 2011 Fusion this past week and I'd like to know everything I can about the car. The manual runs to 374 pages! Anyway, I've found out most of what I need to know to get me started enjoying this car, except - There is a strange button looking eye lens sort of thing on the trunk of my SE that I Googled till I was blue in the face trying to find out what it's for. I don't have the rear camera thing, so that's out. I just don't know what it could be. Opening the trunk and peering from the inside didn't help because there is a covering over the area. I'm sure this is obvious to many of you but I'm lost as to what it is. Please enlighten me.
