  1. old guy 16 seems to be on track. My experience with an upgraded 55w bulb (halogen) in a 2001 crown vic was similar..a little better. "double output"..no way. Blue painted? dont get me started.. The 2012 fusions high and low beams are not bad in my judgement...I just like lights that are better. We all know the POTENTIAL problem with HID bulbs NOT working with the reflector....I have not heard about a HIGH beam HID replacement.....experiences? Lastly I would not be averse to mounting real driving light, but w/o access to a machine shop to make some dog-legged bracket, I see no way to do this on the 2012.
  2. since you asked...I did it with the light on , outside the garage, at nigh. I gave 3 turns or so an watched the beam edge move about a foot , got the other one to match, backed off the ramps and went on the road. ..almost there, back on the ramps, 1 turn, off ramps and check...good.
  3. as noted in another, I just adjusted my 2012 fogs. No need to pull any panels. I put my car on ramps and I could from the center reach over the panels and easily access L and R adjusters..just need a light. Good luck. Much improved , now they are more like aux low beams..
  4. just did this, however on my 2012 there was no need to remove any panels...i could (with car on ramps) very comfortably reach in from the center of the car over the plastic panel and do each in about 30 seconds. Just needed a flashlight. Good luck
  5. I went to iJDM and tried them all LED_HP_T10_SKU304 JDM 1.5W 3-Cell High Power T10 Wedge Light LED Bulbs w/ concentration lens for 2825, 168, 194, 921, etc 1 $18.99 $18.99 LED_HP_T15_SKU311 iJDMTOY Extreme Bright 2.5W High Power T15 Wedge Light LED Bulbs w/ projector for 168 194 912 921 906, etc 1 $18.99 $18.99 LED_T10_SKU_C01 New!!! 360-Degree Shine Super Bright Xenon White 68-SMD T10 LED Wedge Light Bulbs 168 194 912 921 1 $36.99 $36.99 the best were the 360-degree units, but even those were at best 80% of the power of stock. The projector (item 2) would have been maybe pretty good with a clear unfluted, unhoneycombed lense, but not with what it had to work thru. I did not bohter with item 1 as they were 1.5 W vs 2.5. I am going to look at upgraded halogen bulb, but may just get under the car with the hella.
  6. you said it well..the rev lights at best provide some helpful illumination..but not real lights. The stylin' honeycomb pattern on the 2012 taillight does nothing to help here. I am considering the iJDM brand lense type LED with 921 base(http://store.ijdmtoy.com/T15-912-921-Backup-Reverse-Lights-p/led_hp_t15_sku311.htm..It has a bunch of rear facing light with a focusing lense. Picture of it in action LOOK pretty good, and for $20 i might consider it. IF i can get it thru the socket. However, there are a couple of options you might consider, depending on your comfort/skill/time available level. There are a number cheap 55 w "aux lights" you can find out there of various size. A medium rectangular one, say about 1x4' could be hung fairly cleanly from that lip where the license plate lights sit. Another option. Get under the car. There are are a couple of studs with nuts hanging around the bottom of the spare tire well. Hang that aux light there, it would not normally be visible......light would not be perfect as it is lower than ideal. I have some small hella projector fogs that I was close to installing until the time vs money equation hit me. Anyway you simply get a fused 12 V line from the battery back there, hook up a proper relay and use the power light for the existing reverse light to trigger it. You could run the light wire thru one of those plastic grommets that are already there. Good luck..I will let you know if I go for the bulbs.
  7. I know there are many suppliers out there, but I would rather hear it from the users. I am looking for an upgrade to the reverse lights of my 2012 fusion. LED seems to be the best...would appreciate guidnace. THANK YOU
