    Lemon!

Make sure you have a decent attorney that knows how to go after your selling dealer. No lemon law attorney will touch your case because your car is not a lemon. Ford Motor Company had nothing do to with the damage and misservicing of your vehicle. Best of luck with everything. Please keep us posted in the next few months and years as to how this all plays out. I would hate for this thread to be a flash in the pan and we never hear about this again...
  2. Jesus tapdancing Christ! If you're in the Bel Air you'd be lucky to come out alive after that.
  3. Wow, really? Was everyone ok?
  4. How bad is the condensation? Some will be normal but if there is an excessive amount they can be replaced under warranty. Have you visited a dealer service department? Do you have pictures available to post online of the condensation? I can give you a rough idea if it would be covered or not.
  5. Which engine is underhood in your SEL? I want to get a Magnaflow kit but if there are NHV issues that I can't live with then it'll be a different story. The stock exhaust is way quiet, it puts me to sleep, I want something to wake up to!
  6. Which department? PS: I'm going to steal your center console lid...
  7. The newer LV and FN fluids are dark red now versus the bright red of previous ATFs. All the more reason to service the trans regularly. Otherwise at 31,000 miles I'm going to be like "Oh my god, you need to flush this out today sir!"
  8. GET IT TO THE DEALER PRONTO BEFORE IT GOES KA-BOOM!
  9. I'm thinking of getting the magnaflow when the 'fuse is finally paid off. I haven't found good video clips online of the catback on an I4 manual though. To be honest, I want something that sounds like the newer Civic SI. For a four banger, my goodness does that thing sound good. rrrraaaAAAMMMMPPPPFFFF
  10. Ignition coil? Seems like a plausible culprit. I don't see how the engine would have jumped time though unless it was an early build unit. Any updates?
  11. Depends, how many miles are on the vehicle now? Are you changing every 3,000 or 5,000? The oil life monitoring system is more than a simple counter. The computer algorithm will take into account cold starts, ambient air temps, engine operating temps, rpm, vehicle speed and load. So your mileage will vary based on driving conditions. The harder you drive the vehicle, the sooner it'll flash to change. Or yes, it may not have been reset with the last change. That never happens!
  12. Quick question, what were you driving before?
  13. I write service for a living currently at a dealership.
  14. If you're using a generic OBD II monitor the first scan will pull up drive cycle status. Sounds like it hasn't been driven much before. Scan for DTCs. Find DTCs, follow WSM for PPT and observe PIDs if needed for diag.
  15. Ask them to submit a TAR. If they have had it for three months and can't figure it out...
  16. AK with the post help. I second what his says because that is how it works with the rebates, it depends on where you first register it and those "local terms" apply regardless of who sells the vehicle. And yes. You can do this. It is technically against a law or two here or there but if Rahm Emanuel can do it, so can you.* *And myself as well. Live in Atlanta, Fusion and Taurus are registered in Michigan. 850 and Mustang are registered in Georiga. USAA never questioned me on the whole setup.
  17. Hilarious. But it was a dick move. I can imagine the studio manager and sales team was freaking out as soon as that happened. You don't just rip on a major sponsor like that. If the shoe was on the other foot we'd be crying foul here and Ford execs would be demanding an apology, advertising comps, etc... Looks like somebody might have even broken his left thumb or something. What's with the black nail on the second part?
  18. C'mon now, you're amongst friends. At least tell us you made it out ok?
  19. The Best Modification Ever? Removing "Leinholder" off of the title!
  20. You gotta pull up on it bro! HARD! Just remember, if you want to play, you got to pay!
  21. Do you tires have more than 6/32" of even tread left?
  22. From a financial standpoint, they are a waste of money. The aftermarket ones are a risky bet for several reasons. 1. What if the company isn't around later on when you need it? 2. They aren't accepted everywhere even when they may claim "use with any dealer/ASE certified shop." 3. If you read the fine print, they don't cover squat. However, I have made alot of money of the '10s and trans issues, so I may be inclined to go with a Ford warranty on those.

    new Fusion panic

  24. Is this concern duplicated at every idle, especially once warm or is it mainly when cold or within the first 15 minutes or so of driving? This symptom you're describing seems indicative of a throttlebody. What mine was doing, same engine/trans at the same mileage was that on the winter mornings when I would get to the first traffic light with the heat and defrost on the idle would drop a little lower than normal briefly then work itself back up. I could also see this every night at the traffic light about a mile down the road from the dealership I would have to turn at. My tech thought based on description it was a TB on the way out. I cleaned out the throttle plate and as much of the intake I could reach behind hit then sprayed the rest of the can to "decarb" the induction. I also udpated the PCM to the latest calibration since it had never been touched since leaving Hermosillo. After that the idle concern hasn't come back, so I may have bought some time. Also, the low end response was much better. Depends on the dealer. Do you have the maintenance records? While I think Capital Ford is definitely one of the top dealers out there, you never know. I know our used car department wouldn't have put plugs on it as a used vehicle...
