that was in 2017 and it is still a daily driver, back then it was a good deal and that has been proven over the past 7 years. thanks for playing.
6 MILLION dollars is not a good deal. Thanks for playing. -
Unfortunately if she only drives short trips once or twice per week the battery will not stay charged. Thats also not good for the engine either. A longer trip once a week should help a lot. 15 minutes. Throwing it on a charger once a month would also help a lot. Switch to a larger AGM battery. As a last resort maybe an easy to reach disconnect when she won’t be driving for a few days.

$6M is a little high - I think you got ripped off there. 😂

No power to anything? Dead battery. One circuit? Blown fuse.

In my experience if it’s random then it’s probably some type of communication error that corrects itself before a message can be displayed,
-
I suggest changing the better if it’s more than. 3 years old or at least charging it and testing it.
-
I hate to sound flip, but have you tried changing the battery? It can be strong enough to start the vehicle but cause strange electrical issues.
-
Don’t know for sure but if the battery is more than 2.5 years old you might want to replace it and see what happens. Weak batteries will start the car but cause strange issues.

There's no "kit" per se. There's no pan/gasket as on your BMW. There is a filter, but it's internal. The case has to be split open in order to access it and the only way to do that is by removing the trans from the car.
See this video of an HF35 teardown. It's in Spanish, but FF to 4:39, and you'll see the tech removing the filter assembly.
Edited to fix link
And as our famous ford tranny engineer likes to say - if the filter is clogged enough to change it the tranny is already toast. -
Fuel is black smoke. Blue is oil. Maybe you got blue and black confused?
-
Blue smoke is burning oil. Could be piston rings or valve stem seals.

It’s in the exhaust between the engine and catalytic converter.

Usually the purge valve and/or Evap canister causing the starting issues after filling up. But the O2 sensor may be unrelated,

A simple Internet search reveals any number of sources for the bolt pattern. Here's one.
Are you saying you can get the answer in just a few seconds using Google instead of posting it and waiting hours for complete strangers to do the research for you? -
If it clicks that’s a dead battery. It might be the connection for the battery monitoring system.

Honestly the only solution to more power is to trade it for a 2.0L ecoboost or a 2017 Sport 2.7L. Or at least a 1.5L ecoboost with a tune.

There is a receiver(antenna) on each side that senses the fob near the doors.

Final follow up: towed my trailer to the dump today. Boy I could really feel it. Turns out I had 1050lbs of stuff in my trailer + the weight of the trailer at 250lbs and myself and my son at about 350lbs for both of us. Needless to say I was overloaded and will need to be careful in the future. I now understand why they don't suggest towing with these cars.
Just remember the biggest issue with towing a heavy load is stopping especially with a relatively light tow vehicle. -
Check the negative ground to the chassis.

Hi Waldo. Long time no see! I would agree that there is certainly no harm in replacing the fob battery/batteries (although it is only a ~3 year old vehicle and the batteries usually do not fail anywhere near that quickly, but it is possible). However, until the OP states that their situation fits a similar situation to the rather precise one you describe (one key held by a person who jumped out of the car), a failing 12v battery is still a very real possibility and even the most likely.
In addition, and at least in my 2018 MKZ, and using your description: If my wife jumps out of the vehicle with the only keyfob, even if I restarted my vehicle in that time window, the vehicle can not be shifted out of park. So getting a warning to restart will not help a fobless person from being stuck at the airport.
If the OP comes back and states that was/is the situation or not, and changing the fob battery helped or not, then we will know. However, as I stated, my MKZ can not be shifted out of park without a keyfob present in the vehicle. So that grace period is worthless. Perhaps the 2020's are different. Always a possibility.
Nice to see you again and good luck Waldo. ?
Uh oh. I’m with Waldo on this one. You’ll never get a restart now message for anything other than push button start when the vehicle is turned off and the key is no longer detected. It doesn’t have to be that somebody else took the key out - as Waldo stated the battery could be borderline and was just barely strong enough to start it but then got weaker. Especially if a button was being pressed accidentally while in your pocket e.g. -

A old load tester with meter will work just fine. Where did you come up with this?
No they don’t work. I’ve personally seen dozens of people who had a battery test good with the old style load tester but failed the modern test which measures CCA. You need something like a solar ba7 to get an accurate test on a modern battery. They also do t fail the same way as older batteries and vehicles. -
Buy a lithium ion jumpstarter - $79 and you never have to wait for a jump.

It’s probably a wheel speed sensor/wire. Look for obvious damage.
