  1. Last year's season finale of Test and Tune 101 at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL. #964 1st run in the right lane - 14.915 @ 93.76 2nd run in the left lane - 14.791 @ 94.86 3rd and final run in the right lane - 14.689 @ 93.99 Not bad for my first time at the drag strip. Here's my time slips: Videos: First run: http://youtu.be/nHFUTkst9EQ Second run: http://youtu.be/Ug7g-0jr-Fs Third and final run: http://youtu.be/AH-D9HIWds4 It was a lot of fun!
  2. Xtreme Xperience definitely looks like a TON of fun!! It comes back to Chicago in October. CasperCobra - I've already commented on your videos that you posted on the FFC MS6 BBK is definitely the way to go.
  3. During the winter months I noticed the paint bubbling on the inside of my driver's side rear passenger door (see pic): Back on April 18th, I took my car to my local dealer for an oil change, etc. I also showed them my door. Because my car has almost 54,000 miles (at that time), the service manager said Ford would not cover the repair of the paint bubbles/rust. The service manager suggested that I write Ford corporate to see if they'd do anything. A friend mentioned that I post my issue to the Ford Service Facebook page, which is what I did. My issue was soon escalated to a Regional Customer Service Manager who contacted me and instructed me to go back to the dealer to get an estimate. The estimate was then sent to the Regional CSM for review. The Regional CSM then contacted me back and offered to pay for the majority of the repairs, and give me a free rental car while my car's in the shop. All I would have to pay is $100. My car goes in this Wednesday to get the door fixed. In short, I'm glad Ford stepped up to the plate to fix the issue.
  4. durasel - keep an eye for bubbles in the paint on the inside of rear doors. From what I understand, it's a known issue. Keep an eye out for my next post.
  5. Totalled out my 1997 Nissan Maxima SE when it was deemed not worth fixing. She lasted me 15 years and almost 250,000 miles.
  6. E-Dizzle - as you can see there are many choices. In general, most have with a Magnaflow catback system over Borla due to cost as Borla can be expensive. Some have done what BlackBetty has done, others simply replaced the stock mufflers with after-market mufflers and tips. Some have gotten a full-blown custom exhaust setup. It all comes down to how much you want to spend and what your budget is. For me one of the first performance mods I installed was the Steeda CAI and tune and it made a difference. It wasn't until the following year that I upgraded the suspension (lowering springs, replaced shocks/struts, front strut tower brace, rear sway bar, etc), brakes and exhaust (I decided on the Borla catback system). I know that YouTube exhaust videos don't do any justice to how an exhaust really sounds, but here's my videos from July/August 2013: Video filmed with the GoPro HD Hero w/suction cup mount mounted on the rear bumper: Start-up, rev & taking off: Drive-bys: Good luck!
  7. Justin - you do have a few options: 1. You can use plastidip to make your OEM Sport wheels black. This very common in the Fusion community and relatively inexpensive. And if you don't like it, it does peel off. And some have sprayed their wheels with a clear coat after using plastidip to make them look glossy. Look at these images: http://imageshack.us/a/img541/8256/fusionwheel.jpg http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/4/375/1789/38435894255_large.jpg http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/4/375/1789/38435894256_large.jpg http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/4/375/1789/38435894257_large.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h99/michigandevil/lols1.png http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h99/michigandevil/image_zpsbba67a6c.jpg 2. You can paint your wheels black 3. You can have your wheels powder coated (most expensive option) 4. Look into aftermarket wheels with the same bolt pattern as mentioned above - 5x114.3 OEM wheels will be expensive. You can look on craigslist or ebay as well.
  8. Good-bye Microsoft! http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2014/02/ford-drops-microsoft-will-use-blackberrys-realtime-os-for-next-sync/
  9. BlackBetty - even with all the dirt, sand and salt, their products will clean your car. Products like Multi-Clean, Wash and Wax, Aquanil and Aquanil X, when used with a microfiber towel, will lift all the dirt, salt and grime off the car's body surface will not scratch your paint at all.
  10. Outside of my own results, I wanted to share other fellow Fusion owners results (some are members on here, other Fusion forums and on the Facebook Fusion groups). Andrew used Multi-Clean, Aquanil X, and Quick N Slick on his Fusion Sport: Jeremy used Project X and Quick N Slick to get rid of the bad swirls marks on his Fusion: Bryan Larry (along with his girlfriend's Jeep) used Wash and Wax and Aquanil X: Rich (you know him on here as 3 point 5) used Multi-Clean, Project X and Quick N Slick: Craig's 2013 Fusion along with his wife's Escape where they used the Sample Kit:
  11. I wanted to share with you the products I recently tried to detail my car. Being a longtime Meguiar's guy, I never thought I could get results better than what Meguiar's gave me. I tried Croftgate USA's Multi-Clean, Wash N Wax, Project X and Tire Shine Plus. I was very skeptical at first, thinking "how am I going to wash my car without using a hose or taking it to the car wash?" It was quite simple... using only one gallon of warm-to-hot water and a cap full of Wash N Wax and microfiber towels, along with spraying the body panels withg Multi-Clean that were heavily covered with salt and dirt, I was able to clean the entire car from top to bottom. Simply wipe on and wipe dry with microfiber towels. I then followed up with using Project X (spray on and wipe off) on the entire car and Tire Shine Plus on the wheels and tires. And here are my results: And here's a picture I took after while in the driveway after I was done. Can you see the snowman? This was all done in my garage with the outside temp between 30-35F. 12. Along with what BlackBetty said - did the dealer do a diagnostics at all?
  13. Twizzy - good looking Fusion! I wanted to share with what a friend did to his front grill and chrome accents on his 2010 Sport using BASF paint - code M1621A: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tynephoto/8080844433/ http://www.fordfusionclub.com/showthread.php?t=398494&highlight=basf I also noticed that you're in the same state as me. Where abouts are you from?
  14. Madmax - congrats and welcome! I'm not entirely sure what the differences are with v1 or v2 of the VG Shark Fin Antenna, here's an idea of what v2 looks like on a Gen 2 Fusion: http://2gfusions.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=2847.0;attach=1627;image http://2gfusions.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=2847.0;attach=1629;image Let me know if you can access the links. If not, feel free to join 2gfusions.com. With regards to your wheel caps - many Fusion owners, regardless of model year, have either changed their wheel caps or modded them by repainting, wrapping with vinyl or using Plastidip. It's mainly up to you to decide on what you want to do based on the look your going for. Personally, I'd replace the caps if you can get them for a relatively cheap price.

  18. Finally had the time to take in my Sport to the dealer to get the "Check Rear Park Aid" error looked at. This is that they found: FORD OBD ERROR CODE C1706 - LEFT REAR CENTER SENSOR CIRCUIT FAILURE. Headers?

Fusionpursuit - unfortunately no, headers do not exist for the 3.5L V6. They are only availabe for the 3.0L V6.
  23. Stuntman - which spacers did you decide to go with? And did you take any pics after they were installed? I would like to do the same when I use my stock sport wheels for winter. Thanks!
  24. I noticed this as well on my 2012 Sport.
