  1. Step one I need to figure out if it has the harness already installed. If so I may tackle it.
  2. How much work was this. Recently picked up a 2020 SE as a third car due to them pretty much giving it away and am contemplating adding them. I am fairly mechanically inclined. Bigger concern is how long it takes i have three little ones so spare time is a premium. Thanks in advance, E
  3. ^^ Agreed.. ANy popping noises while turning? Another give away CV joint. This is a manageable DIY job. If brakes/rotors are 3/10 in difficulty this is probably a 4 or a 5 depending on corrosion etc. I did both on my 2011 over the summer.
  4. Best post in awhile. Thanks for the laugh.
  5. For me it was getting it out of the transmission transfer case that was a nightmare.. thank you Michigan Winters
  6. how bad is this vibration??? I have an 11 sport.. 150k miles.. an 8 year old car with that many miles i expect some small degradation of performance and feel.
  7. Damn Frank... Not a bad gig.. sucks it too so long but sounds like they are making it right .. maybe they'll throw in a couple speedway gift cards and free oil changes... That's usual my local dealer does / service department if they f**** up.
  8. Try...moog 512498. Moog make a good control arm.. No idea about hubs..
  9. One is for the rear one is for the Front. If you are dead set on OEM, i would reach out to your local dealership. Best of luck
  10. ^^ Generally speaking it is the ball joints. I have replaced all the control arms twice now. This car eats control arms. Usually when getting into the car you will hear a audible groan. Not to be contrite but your "Mechanic" brother in law should be able to qucilkly diagnose it wasn't the CV.
  11. moaning and squeeking... those are not noises normally associated with a failed CV.. usually a audible clicking while turning. Replace both of mine this year.. neither of them groaned. when do you hear this noise?
  12. I am getting rust in the same spot. 8 year old car in Michigan bound to happen.
  13. O here in Detroit, we don't believe in mass transit .. I don't even get that option. Only reason I did mine be a bit second time I was already having to do wheel bearing hubs and a CV axle. Id just deal with the creaking.
  14. Easy fix... It's in the Sport style facia for it.
  15. In my experience it's the front closet control arm ball joint... Bushing is shot... Here in Michigan with shit roads and bad Winters these cars eat control arm bushings..I have replaced the lowers twice now
  16. i believe it is the headlight fluid... Pink is for brights and yellow running lights...
  17. I just replaced my passenger side too. Could of sworn based on the noise it was the drivers side. Did the Jack it up and wiggle it tests. Was the passenger side. If you have it up and have lateral movement it's a bad hub (all types of YouTube videos on it)
  18. The fact that it has a cone filter, which is way less restrictive will have more a benefit than the "seal" it makes. Unless it's a heat shield made by NASA or he is rolling around without a headlight that heat shield is straight snake oil. Sure it keeps it a bit cooler but i would be interested to seat a heat map with and without it on.
  19. It's been on the market for two years.. At this point the these being active if better than being buried in the sale section. I wasn't trying to be that guy I just hate how it's marketed as CAI.. it's not ... I hope he gets his $259 for it... If he does send the guy my way I have a "chip" I'd like to sell him... Easily adds 5hp...
  20. Thank you... Never understood people's love of steeda.. glorified K&N sticker
  21. I just replace a CV joint in a 2011 sport sounded nearly identical to that...if you have time take a look at the boot if you see a tear holes in it good sign it's probably your CV.
