  1. Resolution was the vapor management valve was staying open all the time.The part was like $40 or so. But car in shop over 2 weeks till this was determined. I've had car back a few days. Last time I got gas it wouldn't start and got worse. So tomorrow I get gas and hope no issues and that my car is fixed. I love my car and ready to crank up the stereo instead of listening to all my engine/shifting noises for problems or delays.
  2. I've got the sport 2012 and love it. You should be able to get a nice loaded one at that price with the rebates/rate specials. The dealer can come off price some too. I haul ass thru interstate in the morning. It's quick and fun to drive. I personally think the fusion looks better than the ones you listed. Keep in mind though if you want an 2012 model buy soon before the new models hit.
  3. My 2012 sport started that at 1600 miles. Dealer said overfilling a car could cause starting problems. I though that was bull and it was.After a few weeks back and forth to service and many check engine light laters with foul plugs they found the vapor management valve was not shutting. It was staying open. When I put gas in, it would not start. I'd have to try a few times and it would but it would barely go. Kinda like it had no gas and it struggled to go. After a few minutes it would go. Of course mine cause additional driving problems too but the part is only $40 approx so mabey check that too.
  4. I was only getting about 300 then had a vapor management value defect and since replaced my mpg's have increased alot. Now getting 400-420 per tank on 2012 sport.
  5. I did post on this feed evidently I was in the wrong place. My car is shifting terrible,hesitating and jerking.Some of the posts I read I thought through seemed to be similiar to what I am experiencing. I did come to this site because I did buy a new 2012 Fusion sport and this is a ford fusion forum website.I bought a platinum white with all the extra's except navigation. I was upset that at 1600 miles I can't leave the house without it shifting bad and jerking. I wanted help or some insite on what it could be. It's been at dealer 3 times and they can't pinpoint the problem and I work in the Ford family myself. Turned out from the codes my car was reading,what they fixed was not on the list that was related to them. It's not fixed still. I would like to be able to drive my car and not be scared to pull out in front of someone or to just be able to go fast down the highway without it stalling,jerking or hesitating. But I will be careful going forward to not post on something that my car is not.
  6. I took car back to shop. It wouldn't go faster than 40 without jerking like crazy.Check engine light was on once again. 3 days later I got car back and they said it was a faulty #3 spark plug. Whole process check was performed injector flow test.Passed. Checked mode 6 data and found cylinder #3 had 21 misfires.Test drove and IDS power blance and verified under loads veh would skip on cylinder 3.Removed upper intake and swaped coils between #2 and #3.Skip did not change.Swaped spark plugs and skip changed. Replaced faulty spark plug #3 cleared code and road tested to verify. Day of getting it back I go to put gas in it and it wouldn't start again.Tried a few times and when it did it would barely go when gas pushed. After a few minutes it's fine just the initial start up. 2 days later it starts idling bad and I notice the rpm's are going crazy. It starts shifting bad no jerks like before then again Check Engine light on. So Car is back in shop now. So from 1600 miles car has stayed in shop now off/on 2 weeks+
  7. My 2012 Sport has 1600 and engine has starting hesitating when pulling out. The transmission has started jerking as well. It does it at variable speeds. I have had it jerk at 30,40,50 and 60 mph. This is not one jerk it is like 4+ each time.The dealer could not find anything on the hesitation and gave car back to me then same night the jerking began. Since was on a friday I can't take it back to the dealer till in the morning. This time we will be driving with the service manager to show him how the car is handling. Which is very poorly. I bought this car in May and haven't even had car 50 days yet and these problems.
  8. So I found from posting in a diff forum that I have this transmission for this post. My issue that has happened is I have a 2012 fusion sport at 1600 miles the transmission stalled. I had driven about 20 minutes and it was fine. I stopped at a stop sign went to pull out and nothing. Hit gas more and the rpm's shot up and it zoomed off. It did that a few times after that. Next day it drove fine but the engine light came on. I dropped off at dealer and they got codes of P2196 and P2198.Codes were reset and basically car given back to me unfixed and they didn't really know what to do. Said they could not replicate it and that Ford told them to give back to customer. So very night I get car back same thing. This is unsafe and I'm going to get hit. So next day I take car out and while driving it shakes hard about 3-4 times then stops but continues to stall out while pulling out. I go to put gas in in later and it won't crank.I only put $20 worth so it was not over filled. When it did crank on 2nd time the rpm's shot up. I will be taking back to dealer next week.But so far no other engine/wrench lights have came on. ---Since I have posted this with another day of driving the problem is worse. When accelerating at 40mph,50mph and 60 mph I have had the transmission jerk several times. Everytime I crank car to go somewhere I have this problem.The engine light came on again and flashed a few times and went back off. I will be going to the dealer in the am for them to reopen the ticket they closed on friday. I will be driving with the service manager to replicate what the car does. Update this morning went to take car to dealer the shaking or jerking was so bad i couldn't get past 40mph. Everything was shaking even the shifter.The check engine light came on again and stayed on. Being this is unsafe to drive down any road much less the highway they can keep it till something is actually repaired or replaced. They had the car all day today 7/9. I have yet to hear any status on it. But did get a free rental car on the dealship. Now I'm gathering all my data to make a formal complaint with Ford once the dealership determines what they will try to fix to solve it.

  10. I've got a 2012 Fusion with 1600 miles. I drove about 20 miles down highway and got to some backroads heading home. I stopped at a stop sign when to pull out and it stalled. I gave it more gas and it stalled again then took off. I went by a store and cut off car and didn't restart it for mabey 10 minutes and it did same thing when I pulled out. I about got hit. The next day I while I was out it did not do it but the check engine light came on. I took to dealer they and it came up code P2196 and P2198. They said they reset those ... what-ever that might be and drove it and could not replicate what happened to me. They said they called Ford and was told to give back to customer and basically wait to see if it happens again. So I get car back and sure enough after it's been driven a little while it does it again. So now from the dealer having car for 2 days since they were backed up ... I'm going to have to take it back soon enough. Anyway have this ? I'm going to get hit if this happens at the wrong time either by being hit in the rear on in the side when it dies while pulling out. Over the weekend it has graduated to jerking badly. It does this at 30,40,50 and 60mph. It is unsafe to be going down highway and that happens.Car slows down while this is happening. We took to back to dealer this morning.Of course more problems the jerking continues all the way up highway and it was so bad you couldn't go past 40 mph. The Engine light came back on. We left it running and complained on giving me a car back not fixed. I really could have had a bad accident. I made them give me a rental. They had my car 2 1/2 days last week I can't do that again.So no call back for follow-up from dealer on what they found or what they've done today. I thought I'd get atleast a touch base call. The P2196 is something about gas being too rich or something. I haven't filled up so it was not overfilled that was asked to me.I also have gotten gas a diff gas stations so I would hope not all 3 have bad gas.
