  1. SYNC Accessory Kit Part No: 9R3Z-14D212-A got this off the ford accessories site. (http://accessories.ford.com/sync-accessory-kit.html) it says that this one is compatible with the 2009 fusion... if it isn't compatible with the current fusion, perhaps it can be a starting point for talking to ford about a solution that would. I don't have the details of the fit, and it is rather expensive (>$600), but i figured I'd show you since you had trouble finding it.
  2. hey fusionfederate - i have a 12 fusion se 4cyl. with sunroof and sync and compass. Although there is a spot in the right hand side of the lcd screen for the outside temperature readings to go, nothing illuminates it. The compass reading is in the lower left hand corner of the lcd display. from what i have read on other threads in this forum which cover this topic, the real limiting factor is whether or not your car has the automatic climate control. For whatever reason, ford decided that the temperature sensor should plug into that module. Cars without the autoclimate module have no location to plug in the outside temp thermometer. I'm fairly certain that the only way to get the automatic climate controls was with an SEL model. Might be available on the sport models also, but I don't remember. I think the other threads had links to info from someone who basically stripped and rebuilt the radio/climate control interface using parts from an SEL, but with all that effort you may as well look to trading in your car for the SEL if you really want that temp sensor and auto climate controls. if you are just after sync, you may be able to inquire with ford about adding it. I have seen aftermarket sync kits, they are not integrated into the physical car quite as nicely, but they may get the job done. hope this helps
  3. Never had this happen, but I can completely understand the issue. FusionDiffusion - I'm not sure how far into the slot you pushed the emergency release, but perhaps a safer, low tech solution might be better. Some duck tape, gafers tape, or even hockey tape could be used to hold the release flush up against the surface of the trunk and prevent it from catching on luggage etc. I'd imagine that the tape would let go easily enough to make a daring escape possible in the event it was warranted. I know the chance of someone getting stuffed in the trunk is remote, but god forbid someone you love ended up back there, it's probably better safe than sorry.
  4. indifferent - does your sport have the auto up window feature on all windows, just driver and passenger, or just driver?
  5. More info: I have the auto-up on the drivers side only (2012 SE) and I don't have this feature. I think Waldo is right. This is probably only on 2011+ SEL's. If anyone finds out different, or finds a way to activate it, I'm all ears.
  6. I have a 2012 Fusion SE I4 auto with moonroof and sync. I've tried to hold the unlock button on the key fob with no success. I seem to remember someone on another thread saying it was only available in the SEL models. If it was a feature added in 2011+ models, it must have only been added to some of them. My SE is fairly well equipped and doesn't have this feature. If someone wants to correct me and show me how to enable it I'd be thrilled!
  7. 2012 SE 2.5L I4 35.0 mpg with AC during mostly highway driving My readout suggested 577 miles to empty on the last fillup. Makes sense considering the size of the tank (17.5 gallons) (17.5 gallons - 1 gallon reserve)*35mpg=577.5miles AWD versions of the car have a 15.5 gallon tank (from what i read in the manual) (15.5 gallons - 1 gallon reserve)*29mpg=420miles my $0.02
  8. 2012 Fusion SE, I4, 6-Speed Auto, Moonroof, Sync, Alloy Wheels, 16,886 miles, Clean, Accident Free, Personal Vehicle, $16,991 + tax/tags.
  9. Bump. Hey All, I just bought a used 2012 Fusion SE (16000 miles) and have noticed the same thing you are describing. It's not excessive, but it is noticeable. If I shift to neutral while waiting at a stop light, the vibrations all but disappear. Is this the same problem you saw? Did you ever find a resolution?
  10. +1 Seems silly that the car doesn't have this already! Where do temp sensors normally reside on a car?
  11. Hey Doc - I just bought a 2012 fusion this past weekend and am looking to do exactly the same thing that you are trying. I'm hoping you gave it a shot and wouldn't mind passing on some of your knowledge. I am familiar with electronics, soldering etc, but I have never modded a car before. Any clues you can send me would be really appreciated. My biggest issue is trying to figure out where I can pull power so that it is safe and reliable while also being easy to run behind the dash. Pictures are appreciated, but I'll take info however I can get it. Glad to know great minds think alike!
