  1. Lolder, you called it. I've tried the 3 dealers near me and it seems like all of them are clueless when it comes to hybrids. My 2010 averages only 33.5 in 55,000 miles.
  2. It's not the cold weather that kills MPG, its 100 degree Summers that require the A/C to run 10 months out of the year. My 2010 FFH gets only 34 mpg lifetime. I've even babied it on a couple of tanks just to maximize its potential, but the best tankful it's ever achieved is a pathetic 37.2. Car of the Year my ASS.
  3. When this first set of Michelins are gone, I'm thinking of getting 18" chrome wheels with wider Michelins. It's my daughter's car, so I can keep her in it another 4 years with this small upgrade. At least, that's what she told me.
  4. I'm considering a class-action lawsuit against Ford regarding false advertising on the Fusion Hybrid. Ours has averaged 34.1 mpg in just over 30,000 miles. This is substantially lower than the 39 mpg it was claimed to achieve. I've read all the wild claims of 750 miles on a tank, etc., but in the real world, not a chance. It's been tuned and analyzed at my local dealer with no problems being reported at all. The only way this car can get to 40 miles an hour under battery power alone is if I would push it off a cliff. It won't even get to 10 mph on level ground with accessories on. I've already got 5 other interested FFH owners. My niece is an attorney and gives me a good rate, so if anybody wants in, let me know. I like the car, but I detest false advertising with a passion. e-mail: texan.eric@yahoo.com I'm reconsidering the law suit. I expected more responses in agreement than I've seen here. On another Ford Forum, it was about 50/50: As to the driving conditions and habits, I would have to say we're a little bit rougher on ours than most. We drive it like our other vehicles, (not in the right hand lane), and the A/C and stereo are never turned off. Thanks for all the input. The lawsuit idea has been totally killed. I'm still PO'ed about not getting anywhere near some of the numbers stated in this thread. We've even tried being super gentle for a tank or two, with almost no improvement. I'm going to take it to another local dealer for a diagnosis just to satisfy my curiosity. I may have a lemon (or at least a lime). Having problems with Sirius antenna as well.
  5. Here in Texas, we run the AC on all our vehicles about 11 months out of the year. We basically leave the air and radio always on. In 32,000 miles of 50/50 mix of highway and city miles, our FFH shows 34.1 cumulative mpg on the gauge. That pretty much jives with my own records. We keep a log. We've never got even close to 40 on any single tank of fuel. Our best was 37.2 during a rare cool Winter month. That is almost 5 mpg lower than it was advertised when new in 2010. That is a HUGE difference. When I get a free minute or two, I'm going to start a class-action lawsuit regarding the disparity between the advertised and actual mpg on the FFH. I've heard of similar suits against Honda and Hyundai which were successful, though I haven't actually verified these reports. Besides, my neice is a young, motivated lawyer who gives me great rates.
