  1. Try running the Climate without AC, but still on the 'LO' temp setting with fan full blast. I was pleasantly surprised with how cold the air coming in was like this, and did not see a hit on MPG at all compared to using AC at the temp/fan speed.
  2. It's two issues really. Tank defect and an instrument cluster calibration (for those with MyFord Touch). I think anyone that has MyFord Touch is probably seeing the "reserve" being calculated too aggressively. However, not everyone has the tank defect. Case in Point: My dealer only did the instrument cluster update, and wanted me to see if that resolved my issue. Before, when I would get to 5 miles to empty I could only squeeze in 12.5 gallons. After they applied the update I was able to get in 14.75 (I only have the 16.5 gallon tank). Remember that all cars have a reserve, so despite being published as x gallons, the usable amount is y. To me, a 10-15% reserve is normal...but previously it was closer to 25% in my case.
  3. You're not 10 MPG off the EPA average though. Your only 3 MPG off (26MPG combined, FWIW). Honestly, you will only see 30+MPG if you drive one way for over several hundred miles with no traffic. You admitted there is traffic on your route, which will impact your mileage. And 5 miles of city driving is more than what you think. While based on total distance driven you are looking at 90% highway, in totality, you are probably closer to 75% highway driving. Overall I agree, it is low though and you should probably be getting closer to 26-27 MPG based on what you said. I'm sure you have, but did you bring this up to your dealer.
  4. Yeah, I'm with Cranbers here. I know you said you don't 'floor' it and don't drive like you stole it, however, what are your typical driving conditions? Is it a lot of city driving with stop and go traffic? Do you use the highway a bit, but drive during rush hour and there's a lot of stop and go in traffic? When you are on the highway, are driving over 70 MPH? If you are driving mostly city, and only getting 23 MPG, of course you won't be getting 400 DTE. It's simple math. You will need to average about 27 MPG in order for your DTE to consistently show a range of 400 miles. Again, going by DTE is very flawed way of looking at it. If you are driving mostly free and open highways, under 70 MPH, then maybe you should complain about the MPG, but not the DTE since that is just a calculation of how much fuel is in your tank, multiplied by your recent MPG.
  5. There is a TSB for the fuel pump shutting off often (less than 1 gallon between clicks). Also, that is very odd way to determine how much gas your car has (going by DTE). Your car is always changing the DTE by your MPG over the last 500 miles or so. If you are generally averaging 25 miles per gallon, and fill it up completely, then it would show about 420 DTE, however, if your last few trips using the car you are only getting 22 MPG, when you fill up it will show less, because your have been getting lower mileage lately. It could also be that because they flashed the instrument cluster to fix that issue, that there will be more wild fluctuations due to it having to "learn" your driving habits again. Whereas, it might usually look at the last 500-1000 miles, it only has 200 miles to base the DTE on.
  6. Also, I remember a few people complaining about the gas pump constantly stopping while filling their car. There is a separate tab for that one: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/pubs/content/~WT/~MUS~LEN/3553/tsb13-06-01.htm
  7. Just cached on googles servers. It. Looks like it is also a instrument panel calibration issue as well, if you have myford touch. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=site%3Afordservicecontent.com%20fusion&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCwQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fordservicecontent.com%2Fpubs%2Fcontent%2F~WT%2F~MUS~LEN%2F3575%2Ftsb13-06-03.pdf&ei=9SCxUZvvN8KsywGdsIHoDg&usg=AFQjCNFEqOBBnCtunj36aK8CtR0nt5El4g&sig2=FGW4eX56TwTqAxW-wCOGnw
  8. I think you're confused... . I found out here by Waldo's post. I only posted the link back to his post here on fordfusionclub.com.
  9. That was me that posted the link on a different forum. As for it not being on google yet, tsb's from fordservicecontent.com usually take a few days to pop up. The main reason is that that site is not easily cachable. I mean, if you start stripping any of the sub directories off the url of a known tsb, you get 404, file not found errors. So it probably takes their servers a while to finally cache the new tsbs.
  10. Hasn't popped up in the google cache yet, by doing site:fordservicecontent.com tsb, like I usually do. Do you have a link to it, or did the dealer give you the tsb number?
  11. I'm guessing this is the picture you're saying is advertising the car? That is from a car show, pre-production, and not what I would consider an advertisement. Things can and do change prior (and even during) production.
  12. This might be something to talk to your dealer about: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/pubs/content/~WT/~MUS~LEN/3598/tsb13-05-24.pdf
  13. Well, there is a TSB out for the door handle plate rattle noise: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/pubs/content/~WT/~MUS~LEN/3567/tsb13-05-03.pdf Should be covered if you tell your dealer you are experiencing rattling from that area.
  14. My wife has a 08 Mazda 6 in Tungsten grey, and has a similar issue (more noticeable on the rear bumper than the front). Basically, it comes down to it being different materials (metal body, plastic bumper), and probably how they need to use different primers to get the paint to stick to that material.
  15. I posted this over on another forum, but thought I'd share it here as well: I just want to add another observation of mine, that leads me to believe my issue is only a calculation of the reserve issue (some may have an actual fuel tank issue, I'm not debating that). Today, my yellow low fuel light did not come on until I was 10 miles to empy (about 13 gallons used). From experience, cars will usually give this warning at 50 miles to empty. I have been averaging only 20 MPG, as I drive almost all city. If we figure that the light should come on when you have 50 miles to go, that would have put me 13 gallons used + 2.5 gallons left usable (10 DTE showing plus what would have been 2 more gallons at my current 20 MPG) + 1 gallon of what should be the "true" reserve. I pulled into the gas station at 1 mile to empty, and my red light never came on, at all. To me, this is telling me the computer knows there is still plenty usable fuel left, it is how Ford is calculating and displaying the amount left. It is also why plenty of people have been able to drive an additional 40 miles after hitting empty. When I did fill up, the screen showed I used 13.6 gallons, and I was able to get in 14. Again, not downplaying those that seem to have a legitimate tank issue. This is what I just noticed today.
