  1. My son is driving my old 2010 Fusion hybrid now. Odometer is reading about 192,000 miles. When I asked him what the average mpg was, he said it was indicating just 27 mpg. (Over 40 mpg when I was driving it). ICE was running almost all the time. I found a local Ford dealer to perform the hybrid battery age reset (not an easy task finding one to do this). MPG is back in the 40 mpg range again! Many thanks to Allen for coming up with this 15 minute procedure. Otherwise, this car has been bulletproof. It has had a replacement throttle body. That is about it. In addition, I would encourage other owners to have a drain & fill their eCVT transmission fluid. (This car has had it done twice for a cost of about $80 each time). I believe the owners manual says the transmission fluid is "lifetime". I would not want to roll the dice, on that being true. The transmission shop quoted me something like 5 grand for a replacement!
  2. 125,000 on my 2010. The only thing needing replacement was an O2 sensor and accessory belt - this just recently. Also changed out all coolant at 100,000 miles. I am still on the original "lifetime" air filter, and brake pads - which will need replacement this fall. The car is just "bulletproof". I will run it until 300,000 or turn it over to my kids (in this case, it may not make it that far). Real world fuel mileage is A LOT better than advertised. My average this summer is pegged at 47 mpg. I have seen up to 52 mpg on my daily 75 mile highway commute into Nashville (if I stay 65 mph or under). 41 mpg if stuck in traffic. That is near Prius fuel mileage in a larger car. I used Motorcraft 5W20 FULL Synthetic at 5,000 mile intervals up to 115,000 miles (my stash of it bought for a clearance price of $2/qt from Advance Auto parts ran out). Now using Mobil 1 0W20 AFE for 10,000 mile intervals. It gets my endorsement. 10,000 mile intervals are easy to remember, however the oil could go further. By the way, my car looks identical to the photos posted by Jeff_H.
  3. I came across a 2011 Fusion Hybrid that was designated a salvage car. It had been hit around the driver's side front wheel. Also had driver's side "A" post damage. The car sold at an auction and was a government car. The car had 60,000 miles on it. Other than the area where the car was hit, the rest of it looks good. Front windshield is broken, but even the air bags did not deploy. My 2010 Fusion Hybrid has 105,000 miles on it. I am interested in cherry picking parts from the damaged car and will be contacting the new owner. If A) the new owner is not interested in fully restoring the car and will sell parts, which parts should I be looking at? I plan on running my car "until the wheels come off" - over 300,000 miles. So far, I have in mind the air filter assembly. What other parts would be good to have?
