So I just traded in my 2010 Ford Fusion SE for a Honda Accord. First time I have ever traded a car in before it was paid for. Why? Here were the problems I dealt with:
Throttle Body went out at 40,000 miles. This was well before the recall. Took the dealer my receipt last month and they told me that Ford may not reimburse since I did the repair myself.
Drivers side door handle broke.
Both headlight connectors melted (this was with the original headlights). As many of you know, accessing the headlights for the repair was a royal pain (connectors cost $35 a piece). I think this may be another common issue. Curiously, you cannot buy the original harness any more. Ford has replaced it with something that looks much sturdier
Transmission begin to "shift hard" out of park. Having read about all the transmission issues with the Fusion, this had me worried.
Final straw: moon roof would not close all the way. Wind deflector bar would not drop down allowing the roof to seal.
Lost all faith in the reliability of this car. Traded it in and kept my Toyota Camry that is 10 years old and has 160,000 miles on it. Probably will never touch a Ford again.
