  1. jdavis7878 Maybe you already bought the car since that post is quite old and maybe dead. But here is my 2 cents. The S model does not come with Sirius, But since there is roughly less then 2000.00$ difference between the S and SE model. For the small difference in price you get more standard option, like 10 ways electic seat adjuctment, keyless entry (which btw is really great. I love that feature. So maybe look at the SE model instead and deal the hell out with your dealer.
  2. Well I am not a mecanic, but if you do a google search, and I found this one for a Hyundai car http://www.i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=6832.0 It seem possible to just change the button and put in the one that has the control. After it's just a question of connecting everthing. So I would say, not really a easy job, but possible. Then again I am not a mecanic. I guess it also depends on if you have the right connector on your system in order to connecrt everything.
  3. Buss022412 Can I ask 1 question? Do you install winter tires? Well that 2 questions . AWD or not whitout winter tires won't get anywhere. As a matter a fact it could create a false sense of security and could be more dangerous. Now don't get me wrong it's my second AWD and I will never buy another car whithout it unless I get a second car, which I am thinking but only for city driving and it will probably be an all electric. In Canada snow is something we deal with every year, but a good set of winter tires is a must (in Quebec they are mandatory). And if I may suggest a good set, look at the Nokian http://www.nokiantires.com/ , and no it's not a cell phone lol. There not cheap but they the best. Mine lastest 5 winters and I will change them next winter and will still get 200$ for my used one (I only do roughly 16000 kilometer a year, but I am very picky when it comes to tires) . So value for your money will be very good. As for your question the best way is for you to check how much they are asking either on web site and/or dealer lots for similar cars. But technically you should be able to get that car whitout having to pay anything.
  4. PublicHair. I rent a lot a cars cause of my work. At least twice a month and I have been doing that for the last 5 years. So I cannot argue with you when you say that Chrsyler and GM are the worst. Even after only 10k they start to have rattle and had some kind of mecanical problem. I also owned 3 Chrysler, 2 concorde and 1 LHS and never again. The 200 and the caliber are... well they will have to pay me to own 1. And I am not even talking about the quality of the materials and interior finish. Now on the other side, Hyundai even after 30k (yeah they had 1 Santa Fee with that mileage) feel like it was still new. But when it comes to Ford, I have to say that I don't agree with you. All the ones that I rented were working perfectly regardless of the mileage they had. No rattles, no noise from suspension, direction or squeek that are always present in a Chrsyler. And do I have to say that rental car are usually not the car getting the best of care. I was also looking at the Hyundai sonata and genesis when looking to change my car. The 2 reasons I went for the Fusion was interior room and AWD. The Genisis was way too expensive for my budget. The sonata was great but with a moonroof I was too tall, plus leg room is not as good as the fusion and they did not offer an AWD model. In conclusion. Hyundai do offer great car and great price but not really build with the tall and big in mind unless you want an SUV. Ford has been improving a lot in the last few years in build quality and materials having the customer in mind when they design the car. Now they need to focus on a few mecanical flaws like the transmission and more testing before releasing a new model to avoid major recalls. Their Q&A should be more exhaustive. As for Chrsyler and GM. Well they need to use higher materials quality and to put a lot more effort in buid quality as they suck big time.
  5. Mike good choice and I hope you enjoy your fusion as much as everyone who owns one. Please after a few months of driving I would appreciate your comments on lane keeper. And for the AWD, you wont regret it I can assure you. Rain or snow, dry or muddy road when you'll need it you will see why we all say it's a good thing. Keep in mind that AWD will NOT make you stop faster, and will NOT make your car grip better in icy/snowy road condition. Always drive according to the road condition. In Canada where I live, in winter, 7 times out of 10 the car that end up in the ditch are AWD. Go figure lol
  6. I should have add. Go to steeda.com and you will find everything you need to make your Fusion very hot, Brembo brakes, lowering kits, ground effects and so on. And in my opinion, having a modded fusion will beat anytime a 2009, 328 BMW
  7. Why would you want to trade for a 2 years older car with more mileage?. I agree with Public Hair on that one, you list more negative point then good ones. Furthermore you can your fusion and have a very descent and preforming car for far less then owning a BMW And you said it yourself, repairs on that car will cost you an arm and a leg. I have a few friends that drive BMW, and they all agree on 1 thing. REPAIRS are VERY expensive. So they all resell theirs car not more then 1 year after warranty is finish. On the other hand if you are trading for an "image" and to be able to tell your friends that you are driving a BMW, then don't trade, go to your local BMW dealer and try to get a good deal on a used car with extended warranty. You should be able to get a descent price on your 2011 fusion (better to sale it yourself, you will get a better price). Even leasing could be a good option since payments will be lower. Remember at the end, owning a BMW is an expensive choice used or new.
  8. Thanks Hermans, I will make sure that it gets fixed.
  9. I dont believe that lane assist is in the same category as ABS, traction control or airbags. Security features are one thing and yes I do agree with you that if some can save life then they should be in every car. But I can't see how lane assist would be one. Of course you can always say that if for some reason you are not keeping your lane, then it will help, but the question here would be: Why aren't you not keeping your lane? Distraction, kids, texting, arguing, sleepy? All of the above come to the same argument, you are not paying attention to the road or you should not be driving. Furthermore lane assist works with the painted line on the road, so it's really not full proof and in my opinion could, in some case be dangerous. ABS, air bag on the other hand are 100% functionnal and will do their job when needed. Now I do respect your opinion and maybe one day they will be standard, but they will only be 100% good if all roads are in perfect condition too and should not be use as a way to not be 100% on the task at hand which is driving.
  10. I totally understand your feelings on that matter. Even know it wasn't the reason I bought the 2013 fusion it did feel good to have people looking at the car. Even had some comment and questions regarding it. About the new features, of course there will always be more features added, but if one waits for the new gen the new series one will never buy. I am in computers and had a lot of comments like I will wait for the new gen, it will be more powerfull, cheaper etc, and you know what! "they never buy" since the next best thing is always around the corner. Also all these new feature are not free and I my case I am not even sure I would have bought them, well maybe the cooled seat. Regardless in 4 to 5 years when I change my car, this model will likely be totally redesigned and looking back at today nothing on that will relly matters.
  11. Update on my fusion 2013 Now that I have been driving the car roughly 6 months and put about 8000k (5k US). Here are my latest review. The good; The car drives very well, handles really good. Acceleration is good and will satisfy most users and is perfectly balanced for day to day driving. Braking is superior to the older models, as I had a close encounter with a huge bird on the highway (don’t ask). The brake pedal need some getting use as it start braking hard with a slight push. But after a while you adjust. The onboard display works very good, unless you are a woman with long nails, then you never seem to be pushing at the right place lol. The screen is big enough and the basic information is displayed on the main menu. The sound system has very good sound, and the speaker are well balanced and well placed. The steering wheel button is also well placed and easy to use, not like other cars that needed to put some behind. As for the interior finish and looks well, personally I think that the finishing materiel are very good and well done. Giving the car a classy look without too much fuzz and buzz. But this is my personal taste. I also like all the little feature, like seat adjustment with the remote for different driver. Opening and closing all the windows with a simple push. All these little feature makes the car more enjoyable. The Bad; There is some annoying things about that car, some are design flaws and some build flaws. I am 6.0’ and 280lbs, so even know the front seats are OK and comfortable even on a long ride, the roof should have been 1 inch higher if you have the moonroof. Otherwise you have enough head room. The back seats are not comfortable if you are tall. More if the person sitting in the front is tall. I use the feature to push the seat back when I stop the car so when I get in my son has to wait for me to start the car so the seat move forward in order to get in otherwise there is no room for his legs. So the cabin is Ok for a family of four with 2 kids in the back, but with two tall adults, you won’t find it that comfortable. On the same note. The controls for the windows should have been a bit more behind where they are. It would have been better for taller person that pushes the seat more back. Same for the steering column it should go just a bit further. I have the Sony sound system and even if the sound is great there is 2 small things I find annoying. Adjustment at low volume is not good. The level between them should have been more spread out. It’s like one level is too low and the other one too high. Also the surround settings never stays. I always have to reselect it. I wonder if this will be solved in the update for sync. There is also a few glitches, like the flashers. On some rare occasion, the flasher will work only in the three flash mode even if I push it all the way to signal a turn. It happened to me on 2 different days over 6 months and restarting the car solve the problem. I just hope it won’t become more problematic. The trunk even if it has a lot of space in it accessing it is poorly design. The trunk lid is too small and it’s really hard to get to the rear of it. I really have to get in to get to the rear. Also the opening is way too small. Some item that I could fit in my 2009 don’t fit in this one. I have to get them in from the back seat. The navigation system is good but I cannot hear the voice giving me direction. Even know the volume for it is a max and trust me when she speaks it will blow your hears off, when it come to the navigation it drop drastically. The fuel tank is not right, but for this one I am waiting as it will go in on the 6th and should get fixed (read all other posts on that subject). And this could also falsify the reading on the fuel consumption. For a 4 cyl. It’s pretty high. I average 11.7l/100l which is way off the advertise consumption. Acceleration is good but the response time is way too high, almost 2 seconds after I floor it before it goes. This is way too long. And last bust least. I live in Canada and we have a lot of snow, the front clearance, or bumper is way too low, as I found myself using the front of the car as a shovel. As a result some plastic were broken. The design is great but it has is downfall and this is the one. In conclusion; This is a good car but not a great one. It has some great feature but also some great flaws. Would I recommend it? Yes without a doubt but with some comments. Its good car and most people will find it very satisfying and very comfortable to drive it. The looks are great and the ride is very comfortable. Comparing it to similar car with the same equipment and much more expensive will make you choice very easy. Go for the fusion.
  12. I have the same problem with my rear trunk lid not fitting properly on the driver side having a gap a bit larger then the passenger. For me this is important as it look like I had a bad body work after an accident and it's not the case. My car is going in for regular maintenance on the 6th and I already told the dealer about this a 2 other problems, one with the navigation system and the other with the fuel tank. But these are other posts. As for the trunk I will keep you inform. I don't believe that there is no adjustment for that.
  13. thanks for all your replies. I guess I will have to talk with my dealer as this for me is a security features that should work, more if the owner manual says it should. will keep you posted of their answer
  14. Hi all I have a 2013 fusuion titanium and if I remotely start the car, then when I get in I don't need to press the brake pedal to start the car. Just pushing the start button and voila the car starts. is this a normal behavior, or it's defective. And also I have been having a few other glitches but I will post them in the right section of this forum Thanks
  15. Personally I think that the lane keeper assist is probably the worst feature that can be added to any car. It will give all drivers that text and drive a false sense of security as this (texting) is the plague of the 21th century. Furthermore combine with adaptive cruise control and you have a recipe for disaster. Some improvements are good and should be in a car, like ABS, traction control, etc. But then again we are moving to a future where we will have car that will drive by themselves. This is just the beginning.
