  1. congrats, is it FWD? How many miles and what did you pay for it? I just got a black 2011 Sport AWD a few months ago, paid $22k for it, has all options including navigation and 17k miles.
  2. ^well if you select 2010 Ford Fusion on their website, only the one model comes up anyways. and that's the WeatherBeater series which is the best one.
  3. 1/4 finger, so you can't even fit one finger in there now? That seems like more than a 1.4-inch drop as they advertise? My Sport AWD stock has like a 4-1/2 finger gap. also, without that rubber pad, wouldn't the spring now rub on the metal spring plate and make noises?
  4. Looks great, I also have a black Sport AWD. Trying to figure out which springs to get. How much "finger gap" do you have now front and rear? Also, what do you mean by taking the rubber pad out of the front? Did that lower the front a tad more? Because your car doesn't appear to have the slight rear end squat like I see sometimes in other pictures with Steedas installed (I know the front/rear wheelwell shapes have a visual effect too). Do you scrape anywhere when driving?
  5. around $130 shipped from Tascafordparts.com I'm trying to sell my chrome sill to recoup some of the costs but I'm not sure if I'll get any takers for them.
  6. I took the chrome window sill trim off my Fusion Sport and installed the basic black ones instead. So I'm looking to sell them now. They are in great condition off my 2011 with 18k miles. All 4 pieces would cost you $182 plus shipping from an online Ford parts dealer like Levittown or Tasca. So I think half the price would be fair, so $90 plus shipping, or let's just make an even $100 shipped via Paypal payment. attached is a stock photo with the sill trim circled if you don't know what I'm talking about. These would make a nice upgrade to your Fusion S model, or if you want an extra set or if you want to try to paint them or something...I'll take a picture of my actual sill pieces soon. To remove them, you lower the windows and undo the torx screw on the inside of the door and then pry up on the sill pieces with your fingers and pull up with a lot of force and they will come off. PM me with your email address and I'll get back to you asap. Thanks, Steve.
  7. ok I finally figured it out. it's best to roll your windows down first. Remove the T-20 torx screw for them on the inside of the door. Then just pry and pull up the sills with a lot of force and they will come out. Others have said they slide out horizontally a few inches and then pull them up, but I couldn't get mine to slide at all. I just pulled up as hard as I could and they finally came out. I installed the black ones from the Fusion S. They are just plain black rubber though, not shiny and smooth like the chrome ones.
  8. well I ended up buying and installing this stubby and it fits flush with the factory antenna base (for anyone that is interested): http://www.ebay.com/itm/190745262144?item=190745262144&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:X:eRTM:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr in case the link no longer works, the ebay seller was "awd_motorsports" and the name of the antenna is "Torque Solution stubby antenna"
  9. try reading through this message thread: http://www.fordfusionclub.com/showthread.php?t=251154
  10. ^thanks, I did see the torx screws on the inside of both the front and rear doors. I removed the screws but the sill pieces didn't budge. However, I didn't have the windows down like you suggest, maybe that's the trick? I'll try it again tonight. edit: tried it again with the windows down and those exterior sill pieces still didn't budge. I'll try stopping by a body shop I know and see if he can help me. Otherwise I guess I'll just tape them off and paint them black like other forum members here.
  11. ^thefoeyouknow, would you be able to help me in my posting here about swapping out exterior window sill trim pieces? http://www.fordfusionforum.com/topic/9386-door-handle/?do=findComment&comment=65186 Thanks...
  12. I don't mean to hijack the thread. I wanted to see if you could help me since you work at a dealer and might have access to various service manuals. I'm looking to change out my 2011 Sport chrome exterior window sill trim with the basic black ones from a Fusion S model. It's part number 1 in the link below, and the Ford online parts catalog describes it as "belt w/strip" under the Front Door - Exterior Trim parts category. Is there instructions available on how to swap out this part? I'd like to swap on these trim pieces on both the front and rear doors. https://www.partswebsite.com/stores/partsimages/partsJ/JP10515.gif I would have sent you a message through your profile but I don't have enough posts yet according to the website.
  13. as far as the stubbie antennas, do you guys know which ones sit flush with the OEM antenna base? I would prefer to not have that little gap that "fusionff" has in his picture on page 1 of this thread.
  14. I tried to remove these bezels once like you guys mentioned, but I couldn't get those clips to budge and I didn't want to break them. I had planned to install Depo smoked corners, but gave up and sold them. so now I was thinking if I could just carefully tape around/mask off the corner lenses and spray tint them while they are still on the car???
  15. I bought one from Flood Ford for my last vehicle (F150) with no issues with the online purchase. I never used it though (no problems with the truck) and I also traded my truck in before the ESP expired, so I was able to get a partial refund. Yes, it is cheapest to buy within the first year of ownership. I bought mine the day before the factory warranty expired on my truck.
  16. lots of them on ebay, do a search for "ford remote start fob" here's one for just $15 shipped: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-Lincoln-Remote-Start-Fob-Replacement-New-/271147296252?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f21a365fc&vxp=mtr
  17. fyi I only paid $500 plus shipping on ebay last year for some new takeoff 2012 17" Fusion rims and they still included the center caps and TPMS.
  18. ^180 seems a bit steep to install the basic rmst system - all you have to do is plug in the big ignition harness and then splice in 5 wires (or sounds like only 4 wires in your case). I could see paying up to $180 if you were installing the older Ford Gold system (alarm/rmst/keyless) where you have to splice in all of the wires. I installed my the bi-directional kit in my Fusion with no trouble at all.
  19. ^yeah it's funny when you get comments about your floor mats. people used to question me about the Weathertech liner and said they looked nice. Now alot of people in my family use them (parents, in-laws, etc.). These liners (with the outer lip) are necessary in snow/salt regions or else you get those crusted salt stains as you mentioned. I've been using them since 2004 in various cars, including the brands Nifty Extreme and Weathertech. In my current Fusion is the first time I tried the Husky's and I do like them. I use the liners year round, much easier to clean them rather than trying to scrub dirt from the carpet.
  20. any update to this? Has anyone succesfully removed the chrome window sill trim? Instead of painting it, I'd rather try installing the black ones from the base model Fusion. Anyone do this yet? I tried removing the screw inside the door and the sill trim did not budge. or if you know of a link from a different Fusion forum where someone showed how to remove this, please let me know. Thanks.
  21. well at least they will replace it under warranty. Strange that it went bad so soon. Lots of guys on the F150 forum have this system and I don't recall seeing any postings about their systems going bad and needing replaced.
  22. here's the 2010 file for the "remote start only" system: http://documents.codesystems.com/711967.pdf also this file lists all of the programming options for the system: http://documents.codesystems.com/710620.pdf The option settings is important because if you noticed other postings where people complained their engine shutoff when opening the door or putting the key in the ignition after remote starting, that is due to the MyKey restrictions that came out in 2010. But you can fix that issue easily by changing Option Bank 2, Option 7 on page 2 of the programming file. Also you'll need to change the Tach mode to Tachless (Option bank 2, Option 1) I checked real quick and the wiring diagram is exactly the same for 2011 and 2012 Fusion (also Milan/MKZ). If you're interested in checking out more of the Ford technical installation files, you can sign up on this website: http://techservices.codesystems.com/Login.aspx Code Systems (aka Code Alarm) makes the systems for Ford. The single 1-button fob or the 2-way bi-directional fob "remote start only" systems are referred to in those files as the 'Bronze' or 'Series 100' system.
  23. ^^I'm not sure if you were posting that EPA stuff in reply to my posting, but I know there are several variables that affect MPGs, it's not rocket science. I could care less about mpgs, I was just posting what my car gets based on the conditions I drive. I was on the F150 forums alot before this and of course the guys who always posted great mpgs were "flatlanders"...
  24. well sounds like you're going to have to take it back to the dealer. Sounds like a wire or something may be loose. I believe intermittent issues like this usually trace back to an installation problem. in the last 10 years, I've had 4 separate Ford rmst systems in different cars/trucks and they all worked flawlessly for me.
