Your vehicle does not have SYNC installed
hermans replied to Chrome Dome's topic in Audio, Navigation & SYNC
I upgraded to 3.8 in my 2013 MKZh and have had absolutely no issues. -
I had the same issue as the OP....Ford replaced my filler neck....no further issue.

The "generator" is actually the hybrid electric drive motor. How many miles? When was original date the vehicle was placed in service? The hybrid components are covered under 8-year/100,000 mile limited warranty covering the hybrid components such as the electric motor and battery.

Power Steering Failure at 48000 Miles (2013)
hermans replied to mdr87's topic in General Powertrain Discussion
The first two were under warranty and the third was not. The first one went at about 6,000 miles. I don't know for sure, but I think they were replacing them with rebuilt units. The dealer told me they had never seen anything like it. It didn't take long after #3 for me to dump the car. -
Power Steering Failure at 48000 Miles (2013)
hermans replied to mdr87's topic in General Powertrain Discussion
My 2010 Fusion was one of the worst cars I have ever owned. Besides the PS Rack having to be replaced 3 times ( the last one was on my dime) there were many many issues. I'm holding onto the paperwork if the 2010 comes out with a recall. It's bogus that the recall started with the 2011. The 2010 was just as bad. -
I calculated mine out to be 18 months.

I had an interior detailer retouch a couple of spots on the Dune interior in my 2013 FFH before I sold it. Cost me $25. Looked as good a new.

The actual cost of the front bumper cover is about $200 and retail pricing goes up from there. Then it has to be painted. The process of removing and replacing the cover is a pretty simple process and I belive is covered in these forms. I had to replace two of these on my 2010 when I had it. These cars have been around long enough that you should be able to find one through a salvage yard located, even in the color you want. They even will ship to the locating salvage yard. This is worth a try. Here's a link to one. Fill in the info and you should be able to find you part. https://www.salvageparts.biz/

I've also sold a few cars at the auction. They did really well.

I bought a couple of cars from Barrett-Jackson, Scottsdale (where I used to live), but you really need to be careful. The cars I want come during the prime time viewing and the free liquor really flows. Many buyers, fueled by alcohol, tend to drive up the prices.

Need help please: Advance Trac warning light
hermans replied to bnr's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Happened to my 2010. Power steering lost and service advance trac light on. Everytime this happened they had to replace the power steering rack (3 times). This is very well known issue with Ford and they have issued a recall on this. Unfortunately the recall didn't imclude the 2010s and I had to eat over $1,800. The car is long gone. Someone elses problem now. -
Power steering recall
hermans replied to andyross's topic in Maintenance, Recalls and TSB (Technical Service Bulletins)
I'm really disappointed that they didn't include the 2010 Fusion. Mine was on it's fourth power steering rack. I filed a complaint with the Feds, but it never went anywhere. -
I used to just remove the flasher from it's holder and let it hang. Low tech fix.

I would look at Tire Rack. Even with the extra shipping costs to CN I think you will find them much cheaper. I bought my Blizzaks from them and paid about half that price....shipping included. Yes, they do ship to Canada. I buy all my tires and wheels from them.

The bolt pattern is not the same.

A Ford Rep on the Fusion Hybrid site.

Ford says absolutely not.

They are abound on Ebay - much much cheaper. You then have to get them progrmed.

The 2016 Escape has sync 3.

On the door handles, it's a 15-20 minute job and you do not need to remove the pannel. Just open it up enough to gain access. Really easy job. Wet sanding the lenses are the only way to go...another easy job.

New owner and 1st week impressions (pros/cons)
hermans replied to Bman505's topic in 2013 Ford Fusion
On the bottom of the steering column and towards the end of the column. This was very inconvient placement.....for me. You have to reach really far to find the adjuster. -
I do understand what he is saying in his post number 1. If i open my door (on my MKZh or Escpe Ti) my wife cannot open her side. Only my side opens. If she has her key, she can open her door. IF what he is saying is he is standing at the passenger door and trying to open the door and it won't open then I claim ....no mas....but that is not the way I read his post. There...clear as mud. How come when we now want to change our avatar...we can't? It atomatically changes to the one size fits all badge.
