  1. These are the 2 remote starts that work with the 2013 fusion. One is bidirectional (beeps once when the car receives the signal and twice when the car starts, then remote blinks when car is running) and one is a standard remote start. Model #'s are listed so you can search online for the lowest price. http://accessories.ford.com/vehicles/fusion/2013/electronics/remote-start.html
  2. Ok so a couple months later my remote start is finally programmed the way it should be.... I now have these options in the message center settings under settings--->vehicle--->remote start: System - on or off (checkbox) Duration - 5, 10 or 15 minutes Silent Mode - on or off (checkbox) (I believe it is supposed to honk when this feature is off but it does not ????) Under Climate Control: Rear Defrost - on or off Front Defrost - on or off Heater-A/C- auto, last setting I have the Fusion SE with 1.6 Eco and the standard radio. No MFT.
  3. According to the manual for both one-way and bi-directional, they both have an antenna that needs to be mounted which is included in the kit. This is for the 2013 Fusion. See the attached document. Remote Start.pdf
  4. I have the SE model with 1.6 ECO. I do not have the rain sensing wiper or lane assist feature. So I was able to mount the antenna right below the dotted portion on the windshield with the wire connection terminal facing the headliner directly above. The antenna looks fine where it is and does not obstruct my view at all. I also get great range. I'm able to start the car from where I sit in the office and I am on the third floor on the opposite end of the building. The remote unit beeps right away so I'm sure it would work from even further away. I'll shoot a picture when I get out to the car and upload it later on. Also, I will definitely post more as soon as Ford gets the panel I am waiting to have installed. Apparently, there is an extreme shortage of the part I am waiting on and the Ford corporate department is now involved. As soon as I have them look at the remote start and attempt to reprogram it I will let you know the outcome.
  5. Unfortunately I have not gotten this issue resolved yet. I'm waiting for a part that is on back-order, which is unrelated to the remote start issue completely. The remote start is working, sort of, but I have no options at all to change any of the settings through the message center. Right now the only thing the car does is blow out cold air when the car is started using the remote start. Which kind of sucks because it is still cold here in NY. I have no way of changing the temperature options since they are not present in the message center. Once the parts come in I will be taking it down to Ford in hopes of getting this issue resolved.
  6. It seems like my tank has gotten better since my last report. I was at 69 mte and managed to squeeze 12.5 gallons of gasoline into the tank. I'm fairly certain if I went any further it would have spilled down the side of the car. I'm averaging about 24 miles per gallon (pretty lame since I should be closer to 30) with the 1.6 eco so I figure there was about 3 gallons of gas until I was at 0 mte. With a 1.5 reserve that would give me the full 16.5 capacity as indicated. I'll keep monitoring it to be sure. Oh...and I do not have the MyFord Touch.
  7. Pictures of the QRG and Owners Manual. QRG =13.5 Gallon Owners Manual =16.5 Gallon Obviously this could simply be a misprint, or they used the hybrid specifications on the QRG.
  8. I noticed the same thing. One thing says 13.5g and the other says 16.5g
  9. Mine has a build date of 12/12/2012 and has the issue described.
  10. Thanks...I checked and didn't see any scratches. Are they doing anything for you on that?
  11. I think I will wait for a TSB also.... I had two of the exterior black door panels replaced due to scratches prior to delivery (one with electronic code an the one next to it) and the service department botched the repair. It looks terrible now and I wish I would have just left it alone. The rubber molding isn't aligned correctly and isn't flush like it was prior to repair. Im even getting a rattle in the door now. I would be embarrassed if I were the tech that did the job. Of course I'm bringing the car back in for them to fix it. I could only imagine what they will do swapping the entire gas tank....
  12. Hopefully they got some of the kinks worked out with your Fusion.... One other thing I noticed is the gas tank. I've filled it about 4 times so far and the most it has taken is a little over 12 gallons. The distance to empty indicator was 10 miles the last time I filled it. It's supposed to be a 16.5 gallon tank so I'm not sure why it seems so far off.... The hybrid has a 13.5 or 14 from what I remember. Maybe they accidentally installed the hybrid tank on my SE 1.6 ECO???
  13. The most I ever pumped into the tank was a little over 12 gallons myself...maybe 12.2 to be a little more precise. It's nice not going over $50 on a fill-up but it would be nice to go further on a tank of gas..less time at the pump. You are spending the money either way if you look at it, so it won't matter to me. I have the Fusion SE 1.6L, which supposedly has a 16.5 gallon tank. I can't see that being possible. It showed 10 miles DTE when I squeezed that 12.2 gallons into the tank. What's taking up that other 4 gallons of space in there if it really is a 16.5?
  14. I believe the noise cancellation technology only applies to the hybrid models. But I only hear the sound when the radio is on and the volume is either very low or @ 0. If I power down the radio the noise goes away.
  15. OK. So I have a few issues that I have noticed with my 2013 Fusion SE. They are minor in comparison to other postings I have seen but annoying to say the least. 1. I noticed the left tail light is misaligned. The right tail light sits perfectly in the space provided but the left side has a large gap between the right side of the tail light and the edge of the opening provided. I did not notice this upon delivery but it may have shifted while driving??? 2. The Hood is misaligned. The left front of the hood (closest to the grill) has a larger gap between the hood and the front of the car compared to the right front. I'm guessing hood has to be adjusted somehow with the hinges attached to the vehicle. Again I did not notice this upon delivery but it could have shifted while driving...? 3. I'm getting an annoying vibrating sound from the rear of the vehicle when slowing down which only seems to be audible when the gas tank is at least 3/4 full. I'm guessing it has either something to do with the weight of the gas tank or the sound of the gas in the tank swooshing around. I've never experienced this with the 8 prior cars I have owned. It seems to be the worst right after topping off at the gas station. 4.There is an annoying electrical sound coming from the speakers (I think???) when the radio is on. If the radio is off it seems to go away. At first I thought this was coming from the dashboard in the speedometer area....It's like an electrical/shorting kind of sound.... I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing the same types of problems but thought I would share.
