  1. The engines come pretty much broken in from the factory. However - the PCM is setup to run rich for the first few thousand miles. (my wife's 2012 took about 3000 miles before we noticed an improvement in fuel mileage). Also - fuel is blended differently for the season / weather and even your location. Winter fuel here in Winnipeg is not blended the same - say as winter fuel in Montreal. Don't be suprised to see a 25% drop (at least) in fuel economy in the winter time. Also - EcoBoost - if you drive with your foot lightly on the has pedal - you should get decent mileage (again - refer to previous comments), but if you honk on it just a bit - it will suck back gas like you wouldn't believe. Anything with a turbo is generally worse on gas than a naturally aspirated engine if you step into it a bit. So for folks who do mostly city driving - you're SOL. Folks who do highway driving should see an improvement.
  2. You sure it's brown? That isn't a 'normal' color for Mercon LV. Starts out a nice bright red and will turn a purply/gray color fairly quick (within 10k) in the 6F35 specifically (Fusion and Escape owners usually notice this pretty quick). That is normal. As the fluid gets older it will get darker. I think the 'standard' interval is 100k miles, but where I live we're considered a special/severe duty maintenance area due to the weather - so our interval is 30k miles / 48k kilometers.
  3. There is a TSB that may pertain to your '12 for intermittent harsh shifts with no DTCs (no engine or wrench light on). Your dealer can always do the PCM update as per the TSB - again assuming your Fusion fits the bill (built before 05/08/12 with the 6F35 transmission).
  4. Bucking - no. Pulsating - maybe if you have a bad tire - do you have the regular 17" rims w/Michelin tires or the sport 18" rims with GY Eagle RSAs?
  5. Stick with Motorcraft plugs! Also - warranty only includes labour if they're installing Ford OEM or Motorcraft parts. Generally aftermarket parts have NO labor warranty (since Ford covers the cost of the warranty, they don't want to be paying labour on Non-Ford parts)
