  1. I have a suggestion here. I don't have any issue with the mirrior, it works great for me. BUT My wife has similar issues as some of you...same car different driver. Here is what I have found. When I drive the car I like the mirrior raised as high to the roofline as possible so I can get a view of the traffic to the right at corners. My wife grabs the thing and drags it down low. I think the light gets blocked by the rear of the car so the mirrior never tints completely. It tints, but not deep enough. Our car is equipped with a factory raised type spoiler. So, if you guys would be so kind as to try raising the mirrior as high as possible and then adjusting it, we might understand if it a real issue or if it has to do with position. Just an idea, but as I said we have the same problem with 1 of 2 drivers. Oz
  2. OK...could a moderator please kick that ad posting johnbarton off the board for spamming! There are 3 posts I read that he has put the same link in and nothing else of substance and he has 3 POSTS to his credit!!! DEATH TO SPAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. OMG! How could I miss such a HUGE difference! (read as sarcasm) They look enough alike I think. Few people would notice the soubtle differences and fewer care....including ME. Oz
  4. Focus to Fusion here too! 2001 Focus to 2007 Fusion BUT my Focus is still alive and well, unlike yours. I'm glad you are OK. You getting a SAP in red? Bastard! My wife made me buy an SEL in black. Yes, I said MADE ME, Don't ask. As for scoops and stuff...SAP rocks AS IS... Oz
  5. Funny you say that because I was under the impression ALL 07'+ Fusions came standard with Sirius. It was a Ford-Sirius marketing ploy. As it turns out, in CANADA it's ALWAYS included. Oz
  6. That is exactly what I meant. Was it for looks or was there another reason I may have overlooked. I see by your answer, it's for looks. Thanks for the vivd clarification. LOL! I was never lucky enough to get the best looking girl in school...so I did her sister. Oz
  7. It looks cool. But, what's the point? It's a FWD car. Normally we stagger wheels on RWD because we increase the width for acceleration traction. Or to correct track width for suspension dynamics. Does it rub when the rear suspension is compressed? Oz
  8. It's great to see that I'm NOT the only one who truely understands tire size numbers. This is a very misunderstood part of automobile science. The myth of 60s being wider than 70s comes from the old days when they needed to reduce the sidewall height in order to maintain overall diameter. Because the width desctiptor letter (L or F or what have you) was not a very visual way to measure width, very often people mistook L60 to be wider than F70 because of the 60 number. That was the number one reason tire companies switched to the P-Metric system for measureing tires. Albiet, tire companies don't all calculate the width the same way because they measue from tread edge to tread edge and the tread may start earlier or later into the sidewall, it is rarely more than a few mm difference. When choosing an alternate tire for your car, the best way is to refer to the original tire manufactures "rotations or revolutions per mile" and be sure that the new tire you choose is as close as it can be to that count. Example for the MXM4 they put on my fusion: Tire Size P225/50R17 Type of Tire Luxury Performance Touring Rim Width Range 6" - 8" Section Width on Measuring Rim Width 9.1" on 7" Aspect Ratio 50 Overall Diameter 25.9" Tread Depth 10/32" Tire Revolutions per Mile 800 at 45mph Rule of thumb: As long as the tire size you chose is close to 800 Rev per mile you should be ok. This is THE safest way to be sure you have the best match for your car. Thanks Oz
  9. Same here on my '07. It's almost un-noticable now at 7K, but still there. Dealership says "It's normal" and I have driven an '06 with nearly 40K and it still has a faint odor. I don't really notice it anymore. Oz
  10. All I have been able to extract is version numbers, infomation and sefltests. If anybody has any luck let me know. Thanks, Oz
  11. I have seen a couple Fusion's with the 18" edge wheels. Including the 2008 SAP with the same model wheels too. I love it. Oz
  12. Sorry for the shit-box thing. I also own a 2001 Focus and I still say it is one of the best cars I have ever owned. I'm just a little frustrated. At this point it has nothing to do with size or money, it's simply a ford thing. Put it in a base Focus but not in a top-of-the line Fusion. But through in a 6-DISC radio and SAT receiver though. I heard that mentioned somewhere about reprogamming the radio. I'll look into it. Thanks all! Oz
  13. I guess I'm just having a hard time swallowing the fact that a shit-box base model Focus has it and my SEL Fusion doesn't. That would be CRIMINAL. I have the 6-CD radio but, there are only 4 systems avaible: Base, 6-disc, Audiphile and DVD NAV. It's not like I bought a an S...which you can't get here in Canada.. The raido's display has the little icon for it, it shows in the sunlight. Thanks for the replies, Oz
  14. If you are refering to this kit http://www.bestleatherkits.com/Heaters.html. There was a person on one of the Jeep or off-road forums I read, bragging about how cool they were and how relativly easy they were to install. Sorry I can't remember which one though. I was looking into leather for my SEL and heaters. Good Luck, Oz
