  1. I do not have a Fusion. Looking for a friends issue brought me here. years ago, I rented a Maxima and the trunk was opened at least 3 different times in my 1 week rental. No sign of how it was done. The 3rd guy used a small slotted screwdriver with a notch on the shank, so it would go in just far enough. Levering the screwdriver up, it would release the trunk latch. Not just on my car, but almost every Japanese car in the rental fleets. This was done in broad daylight with a hundred tourists around. Someone look at their trunk release/key hole and latch. Put the key in and see how it operates. You should be able to see if it could be opened easily with a screwdriver. I think the trunk being opened, would not set off the alarm? I came home from that trip, checked my Mazda 626 and sure enough the trunk popped right open with a little screwdriver. I disabled the trunk key latch and zip tied the latch so it could not be opened. The inside release still worked next to the drivers seat. Little screwdrivers are more readily available than slim jims and easier to conceal too. Check your car out and someone post back. Also, If you have a Japanese model car check them out too. Oh, the 3rd guy we caught got sent back home, after 6 months in jail.
