  1. I have a 2016 Fusion with the 2.0 Ecoboost just had the check engine light come on so I had the codes read. Came back with a P144a. Where is the Purge Valve Solenoid located?
  2. Can anyone help with the location of the Solenoid? A pic would be great. Thanks
  3. Can't really hear it in your video. I had a slight chirping sound in my '16 Fusion and it went away after I ran the HVAC blower on high for a few minutes.

  5. After I bought my Fusion last summer I noticed that the tabs that mount the turbocharger inter-cooler pipe under the engine on my 2.0 were broken. I now have strong zip ties holding it up and this is working well however I'm wondering if this was a common problem or just something that happened?
  6. Never mind, it's called a radiator support splash shield. Now, where can I find the fasteners?
  7. What's the ~(3" x 3') fiber panel called that's located under the engine? There's a couple of snap in fasteners that are broken and I'd like to see if i can find replacements.
  8. I had a 2006 fusion and now a 2016 fusion that had a squeaking/groaning sound that I was sure was from the struts. Turns out the noise was coming from the ball joints. A few pumps of grease from a grease gun with a grease needle and the noise was/is gone.
  9. I have no experience with that grill but it does look like it could be restrictive and a pain to keep clean. Have you looked into the Honeycomb grill mentioned in the other thread?
  10. I've a '16 ecoboost and have had it since July. Sometimes when I accerate from a stop and then have to let off the gas suddenly I'll hear a slight popping sound or two. This is the first turbocharged vehicle I've had. Is this normal?
  11. It's now been over a month after giving the ball joints a shot of grease and there hasn't been a peep out of them!
  12. Does it happen every time or just once in a while? Flash rust on the brake rotor will cause the brakes to be touchy the first stop or two but it should get better when the rust is worn away.
  13. Got it now. I didn't know you had to hit the lock before you hit 2x, then 2x. Thanks for the info!
  14. I have a new to me 2016 Titanium and the remote start is not starting the car. Two presses on the start button on the key fob and no start and the key fob blinks red once. Any ideas?
  15. Yea, the squeak came back. Several years ago I had an `06 Milan that squeaked like crazy in cold months and it turned out to be the ball joints. I took a grease needle and gave each ball joint a few shots of grease and the noise was gone forever. I sold the car when it had 204,000 miles on it and the ball joints were still the original ones. This afternoon I got the old grease needle out and gave each ball joint a few shots of grease. Took it for a short trip and it was quiet as can be. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will stay that way,
  16. I might be looking at replacing the control arms in my `16 Fusion. How did things work out for you?
  17. I'm not sure that the struts have anything to do with alignment adjustments. There are three bolts on the top and two on the bottom. Non of these fasteners show any sign that they are adjustable.
  18. I think I'm going to remove and inspect my struts to see if they're the cause of my squeaking steering. Are the struts a part of the tire alignment?
  19. I just finished going over the strut rods with some chain lube. I pulled the protective plastic boot down from the top and up from the bottom and made sure the lube got to each end of the rod. Preliminary results are good but then I said that yesterday too...
  20. OK, I took it on a trip today and the squeak is worse than it's ever been. Every little turn of the wheel in either direction makes a loud squeak. I'm going to try something other than the silicon spray, hopefully it last longer...
  21. It only has 33,500 miles but it's over 36 months old so it's out of warranty. I put the car up on jack stands, removed the wheels, then started the car and worked the steering wheel from one lock to the other. The sound was definitely coming from the upper strut mount area. I took a can of silicon lube and sprayed the upper mount area from below and under the hood and now the squeak is gone. before I purchased the car is had sat for a few months on a Chevrolet dealers lot and I don't think it got much attention nor was moved much. I'm guessing some light corrosion developed in the upper strut pivot area and was causing the squeak. Hopefully this takes care of the squeak!
  22. I just purchased a 2016 Fusion and I like it a lot. It does have one quirk to it though. If the car's been sitting for a while, the first time you turn the steering wheel there's a noticeable squeaking sound coming from, I think, the left front wheel area. This only happens once then there rest of the turns are quiet. Any ideas to what this could be?
  23. ^Oops, to late to edit. I meant right front wheel...
