  1. Hey I was wondering the other day, what exactly is the resonator on the airbox and how do you take it off? Also, I did some 0-60 runs and I ran everywhere from 6.1-6.6 seconds, the last time I did it was about 6.7-6.9. The gain is really noticed in first gear with traction control on. The wheels never spun with TC on but with the intake they chirp and spin through out first gear. It's not bad at all but it's just noteworthy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Fmv6q4mrHk
  2. Thanks for the reply man, and performance increase or not (which I still believe there is), if nothing else buy it for the sound. It just makes the whole car sound meaner. I also have a custom magnaflow exhaust (#11225 mufflers, 3.5in tips, and a second resonator delete) and with these two combined I absolutely love the sound. I did end up calling Steeda, they said that the filter should be alright and if the vent is really bothering me then I could just cover it with a piece of black duct tape. I think that's what I'm going to do. Great customer service on Steeda's part, btw.
  3. I think I get a performance increase, and it definitely feels like I am getting one. However this may just be in my imagination because of the amazing sound the intake puts out under WOT. When I get around to it I will do a couple 0-60 runs on a back road and compare them to the old times I recorded, that will be the only true way to tell I guess. As far as water goes, it definitely gets on the filter (it recently rained) but the intake did not seem to suck any water up, however it was just a light rain.
  4. Hey guys, the other day I put on a Steeda CAI on my 2008 MKZ. I love the intake and everything works great. http://www.steedafusion.com/parts/steeda-ford-fusion-sport-cold-air-intake-555-3158/ That intake to be exact. Secondly, I noticed while installing the CAI that my car has a vent in the wheel well, and that if there was a serious downpour of rain, water would splash into the vent and into the engine bay. Unfortunately, the CAI is right next to the vent in the engine bay. Wondering if I should be alarmed, or if the Cold Air Intake is engineered to take a lot of water without sucking any into the engine. Just wanted to clarify and get some reassurance. Also wondering if this was just an MKZ thing or if it was also on the fusions. Any and all help is appreciated!
  5. Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get some help with this problem here, keep in mind i drive a 2008 Lincoln MKZ and not an actual fusion sport. However these cars are almost identical as far as engine and exhaust setup goes. About 6 months ago I got Magnaflow #11225 mufflers and had the shops fill in the blanks. By fill in the blanks I mean they welded the stock tips back on and did a second resonator delete. The exhaust sounds good but I feel like it is too quiet in the high RPM range (above 3000), just a little bit louder than stock. However, in the lower ranges its just right (almost a little loud) much louder than stock. I realized that in welding the stock tips on, the pipe diameter after the muffler outlet just before the tip went from 2.25"(muffler outlet diameter) back to a 2.00" (the stock pipe diameter) then out through the 3" stock tip. I was just wondering if I increased that pipe size, after the muffler but before the tip and put new tips on with an inlet of 2.25" instead of the stock tips which have an inlet of 2.00", would it help with my problem. Would it make the low RPMs louder and not do anything for the high RPMs? Or the other way around? Or make both louder? If you guys think it wouldn't be worth the money then let me know that too! Any input would be great. Thanks in advance!
