Hello Fusion members. I have an 2006 Fusion SE V6 3.0L with 129,00 km's ( 77,000 mi) that I am having a few issues with that I am looking for insight from fellow members.
Starting with....today... I had to top up transmission with 3 litres (3 quarts) of fluid. I was having some hard shifting problems when at operating temps so I checked fluid levels..none showed on dipstick (no info on fluid required stamped on dipstick). After some visits to local aftermarket parts stores I couldn't find any fluid for the car. A very helpful person looked up trans. specs on computer & informed me that fluid was only available at local Ford dealer. Went there but didn't have any info on which transmission I had. Tech looked up info for 06 Fusion & found it to have 6-speed transmission...different fluid for 5-speed & 6-speed. I was just curious as to where fluid could have gone (no leaks) since I was informed that it doesn't evaporate.
I am also experience problems with acceleration from stop. When I depress pedal seems like there is some hesitation but it doesn't happen often. Is this a throttle body or throttle position sensor (may I add that the engine starts with a high idle when cold that seems to last longer than I would consider normal (2-5 mins))
I have also experienced times when cruising on hi-way at 120 kmh (70 mph) with or without cruise control on that the vehicle enters into "limp" mode suddenly displaying the "wrench" light as well as "traction control" light. Motor is still running but unable to accelerate until vehicle speed is below 20 kmh. When I am safely off the road I have shut vehicle off then wait 1 - 2 mins before I attempt restart. It will restart & all is well until the next time it goes "limp" which happens after alot of miles driving either city or hi-way.
Any advice would go along way to settle some things (as well as wife's nerves since this is mostly her daily driver).
