I've found that in the winter the gas mileage goes way down, even further if making lotsa short trips, but improves during the rest of the year. I attribute this to having to use winter fuel which has lower volatility, and the short trips not allowing the motor to sufficiently warm up. My long term average for a 2010 model is 35 mph, but this is over several years (and winters). Mileage on the turnpike is better than forecast when I use the cruise, and country rides ~40-50 mph are in the low 50s mpg. So, my mileage depends on the time of year and distance traveled. I once drove the entire length of the Brooklyn-Queens EXpy in heavy stalling traffic and averaged 99.9 mpg.
