Carefully check the rocker panels just in front of the rear wheels. They tend to rust out, but it's hard to see since the paint has a thick coating for rock protection. Just tap or push on it with a finger. Also check if the front suspension is creaky. It mainly happens in warmer and drier conditions.
  2. I sold my Fusion nearly a year ago, but still keep an eye on this forum. Sometimes you may still remember something that can be helpful to others. I still have some leftover parts I should sell. Any ideas on the best way to sell without having to create all sorts of online accounts?
  3. The first-gen Fusions are known to have issues with some of the bushings in the suspension. That can cause all sorts of weird noises, especially in warmer weather. You would need to jack up the front end and check for a bad bearing or ball joint. You can't easily check them with weight on the suspension.
  4. I would sort-of agree. I think black wheels look better with a black or otherwise dark car. With a white car, it just looks a bit hollowed out. Almost looks like some base car with the hubcaps missing.
  5. When I had my 2011 Fusion, there was some delamination along the top edge. I think I even posted a picture here a few years ago. The windshield got a crack after the dealer did the passenger airbag recall, and it was replaced.
  6. There is a rust database thread. That rocker panel paint is extra thick. Water gets in through a seam behind the wheelwell and rusts through. If you push on those bubbled areas, you will probably feel how spongy it is.
  7. Are you sure you or somebody didn't lose a key once and it's under the seat or somewhere in the car?
  8. Ford is recalling some 2013-2016 Fusions (and several related vehicles) due to issues with the transmission not shifting properly, and not always going into Park. https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2022/06/15/ford-recall-rollaway-escape-fusion-edge/7633818001/
  9. I think that might be the fuel-pump trip sensor reset. In a crash, it cuts off the fuel pump power, but could shut off for other reasons.
  10. I don't think factory alarms have any form of sound or motion detection. They are usually just based on the door/trunk/hood switches. It could be some dealer upgrade or alternate alarm system added.
  11. I assume you have tried turning the car off and restarting it? I had that happen once to me. Otherwise, you could do the full disconnect the battery for a few minutes reset.
  12. I believe the 2013+ Hybrids do have folding rear seats. The previous gen did not fold down because the battery is behind the seat. Also, can you fold down the seats from the inside? On my 2011 (not a Hybrid), the seat release was in the trunk. Unless you were really small or flexible and could reach stuff through the center armrest passthrough!
  13. I think the Sport used a different trans, but when I first got my 2011 Fusion (used), the 6F35 was horrible. When cold, it would sometime race and then slam into 2nd and (I think) 4th or 5th. It would then act weird for awhile until it settled down. A software update mostly fixed it. It would instead go into a 'power hold' and then do a firm shift and not get confused afterwards. And even then, it seemed to happen much less often.
  14. Could use some color adjustments. The post tags are dark red on a dark blue background and nearly impossible to read.
  15. There is a big thread on this. It's mostly due to water getting into a seam that is hidden behind the fender liner.
  16. If the front tires were worn but the back good, you weren't rotating them often enough. Also, if you do only get 2 new tires, the new ones should go in the back, or you run the risk of oversteer (rears losing traction first), which can be harder to recover from than understeer. I don't know how reliable it is these days, but the classic way of checking shocks is to manually bounce a corner and then see how quickly it stops. Do this at all 4 to see if they are about the same.
  17. Are you sure it's fully wireless? I'd think it may not be individual wires, but possibly using something like CANBUS or similar to network them all onto one wire.
  18. Can you post what changes you made in case somebody else wants to try the same thing?
  19. I think those are nuts, with the thread coming from the other side or welded to the panel.
  20. You could get one of those threaded pipe plugs or whatever the proper name is. It looks like there is a clamp on that end, so anything that is a good size should work, as long as it has barbs or threads to help hold it in place.
  21. If the extra part doesn't get in the way, and everything else matches up, just plug it up. Maybe there was some sort of mid-year change that needed that extra connection.
  22. My 2011 (Sony Audio) had no issues with my Pixel 4a.
  23. Also, double check the rocker panels just in front of the rear tires. They tend to rust out. They may look good just looking at it because the paint has a thick coating to protect from road debris. If you knock or press on it, it may actually be rusted out underneath.
  24. A quick check is to use a flashlight to see if you can look through the grills and see if there is anything there. Maybe somebody with known tweeters can check and see if it's possible and what is visible.
  25. It's possible there are no speakers actually there. Just the covers since Ford didn't want to make separate moldings .
