  1. I recently got some Michelin Cross Climate +. They are all-season, but ALSO are rated as snow tires. Unfortunately, not too much snow last year, especially after I bought them around February. The one time we did have some snow, they were really good compared the the moderately worn Pirelli Cintaurato P7 Plus I had on before.
  2. Can you simply screw into the support? Maybe drill a small hole first.
  3. Looks like it had been parked under a cottonwood tree or similar by the previous owner.
  4. If the knocking noise is heard at slight turning or when starting/stopping, it could be a common issue with some bushings getting very tight in warmer weather. The fix is to replace some suspension parts. There is a known issue with the interior door handles where a pin breaks and you can't open the door. Not sure what you mean by halfway-broken. I haven't had issues yet, but did buy a replacement drivers door handle that is metal instead of plastic.
  5. I think the main issue with the rear rotors is that there is more of a rear-bias than on some other cars, so they tend to be used more.
  6. Plus, if that's the original battery, 6 years is a great life for any modern car.
  7. The 2006-2012 have an issue with the blow motor resistor (standard) or speed controller (automatic). The contacts for the connector that plugs into it overheats and melts some plastic, causing poor contact and loss of lower speeds. There is a replacement available, although it involves cutting off and rewiring in a new connector with better contacts.
  8. I was getting some things from the glove box of my 2011 Fusion, and just remembered a question I always wanted to ask: What is that little pocket to the right of the main glove box for? I assume 2010-2012 have it, and maybe 2006-2009?
  9. If it is affected by and qualifies for the recall, there would be no cost to you.
  10. It may not be a noticeable loss. It leaks into the cylinders and gums everything up. There is a recall and TSB's for it, usually requiring an engine replacement.
  11. See the threads about a coolant leak getting into the cylinders issue with the 1.5L engine.
  12. I assume the left turn signal works and blinks? If so, whatever passes for a flasher these days is working. What about the front right? Does it turn on? Does it blink? Normally, when a bulb goes dead, you get fast blinking. Even simply removing and reseating the bulb may help. If the ground has an issue, you get current flowing through both filaments, with weird effects.
  13. Check the thread about resetting the battery life. There is a stupid 'clock' that causes it to use the battery less and less over 5-6 years, until it becomes little more than a start-stop system.
  14. On the 2006-2012, remote start was not a factory option. The black parts probably mean it was in an accident and was repaired. If you just have a plain key, you will need a dealer to add another key. The normal key is an IDK, a key with a remote. The normal remote is just the standard doors/trunk/panic. If you have two keys, you can then add more on your own.
  15. From your profile, if it is a 2016 Fusion, and the original battery, it is 4 years old now. 3-4 years is the average life of a battery these days. The batteries just drain fast, but may still test OK with charge/load testing.
  16. Could it be a browser issue, possibly something to do with ad-blocking, cookie tracking blocking, etc...?
  17. Maybe that RPM drop is the Torque Converter clutch locking up.
  18. Maybe there was some change between 2016 and 2017? Different gasket material, design, or block manufacturing change, or even the specs of the steel or aluminum used?
  19. If you have your phone connected by Bluetooth, it switches Sync to the phone mode, where you can make calls, etc... It's the same as the phone icon on the steering wheel controls. At least it should be.
  20. Yesterday, when I got to work, I went to open the drivers door, and the handle didn't work. I had to climb out the passenger side. I spent the whole day at work figuring out how I was going to replace it. I have no garage and it's sub-zero out (F). When I got back to the car to go home, I noticed the outside door handle was sticking out. I pushed it back in, then opened the door normally. When I got in, I closed the door, and the interior handle worked. We had some wet snow the night before, and the temps had then dropped into the teens during the day. I guess it was just some ice. I do have a spare handle already. I got it through Amazon, and it says it is made of steel instead of plastic.
  21. I did get the CrossClimate's last week. I guess I'll find out this evening/tomorrow how well they work in snow. So far, compared to the fairly worn Pirelli's (roughly double the wear-bar left), they certainly are grippier even in dry/damp conditions. At speed, the steering doesn't seem as light, too. Also, the ride seems to be a bit softer, even after verifying the air pressures.
  22. Clear sidemarkers could be legal if they have an amber reflector, and the light itself glows amber.
