  1. Hello! I am trying to add my subwoofer to my 2014 fusion se with the MFT system. I DONT have the premium sound with the rear deck lid speakers. I was gonna use a line out converter to get the signal for my amp and i was thinking that the wiring harness for the rear deck speakers would still be there but I cannot seem to locate it after pulling out the siding of the trunk. I did find a 12 pin clip that wasnt hooked up to anything and I think that that might be it. Its located almost under the rear passenger seat. does anyone know if that would be the right connector? What would the color of the speaker wires be if it is? Also if that is not the right connector does anyone know the color of the speaker wires comming out of the rear doors (not the tweeter wires)? Any help would be great!
  2. The only thing i can say about the 1.5 engine (I work for ford) is that their is not much to say about them yet. their brand new and havent been through thier paces yet to see whats 'wrong' with them. Another option for the 2014 is the 2.5 which is a solid engine. Not many problems or anything like that. The 1.5 was made to replace the 1.6 which was a problem monster. The gas mileage would plumite in cold winter areas and it had cooling problems. Ford says they fixed all those problems with the 1.5. Im not trying to discourage you from buying the 1.5 but what i am trying to say is that their isnt much to say bout them yet. I personally like the my ford touch system just for the fact that it 'cleans up' center console area.
  3. I think their would be a problem with the speedometer reading not being accurate. But other then that, I don't see any problems
  4. Low transmission fluid. Let the car warm up to operating temp and then idle and check the level. Also look to see if its dirty, pending on how old it is it could be time for a transmission flush ("should" get them every 60k miles or so)
  5. I would just paint them but I'm only 19 so I'm in school for the next 2 years so I'm leasing it for 36mo (so my payments are cheap during college) and then buying it afterwards. So I want something I can 'undo' for the lease period
  6. Hello guys! so i decided that i was going to get the ruby red fusion with the appearance package and a 2.5l. unfortunately that means that I cannot get the gloss black 18" rims. I was thinking of plasti dipping my rims black though. any thoughts on how this would look? here is a pic of how it would look without the plasti dip on. with the plasti dip they would be matte black.
  7. Very much so! I think I made up my mind and im probably gonna get the 2.5 just because it seems to be more consistent then the others
  8. Hello again everyone! So im getting closer and closer to buying a new '14 fusion SE and i want to get the se appearance package but the only hang up for me is the rims. Im not a fan of the 18" 5 spoke design but what i do like are the 18" gloss black rims and atleast on the ford website, i cant chose those without a 1.5l engine or if i have the appearance package. So what I was wondering was if i could like pay an extra $200 or w.e and get them swapped. Has anyone done this before?
  9. The only 'real' reason ford switched from the 1.6 to the 1.5 is because it improves their sales over in china because they get major tax breaks on engines > 1.5l. Im not saying that they didnt change some things, but im kinda skeptical about it seeing as it is based off of the 1.6. im beginning to lean more towards the 2.5l but im still willing to give the 1.5l a chance to prove itself. Does anyone know of anyone with a 1.5? I dont seem to see any on here or just 14' fusions in general...
  10. I know its probably too late to answer this but when it is cold out, everything starts a little rough. The oil is a lot thicker then it would normally be, pistons and rods and such are also cold and are just a little more stubborn to move at first. It is nothing to be worried about, its natural.
  11. If you cant find the 'oil life reset' on the in dash display under 'settings' or 'information', then you are probbably doing the gas and brake wrong. You need to first have all the doors closed, turn the key to 'on' but dont start the car, wait for all of the little screens to do their quick animations and then hold down the gas and brake at the same time. it may take a little bit but then a display screen will say something like 'service: oil life reset in prog'. keep holding the gas and brake until it say oil life reset complete. It takes like a solid 30 seconds for it to reset.
  12. First off may I say that I am sorry to hear about your problem. I myself am a ford technician (I deal mainly with the super dutys and mustangs) and I can tell you that I myself would change my own. its not a matter of it being 'hard' but more so of can you get past the fact that theirs alot of parts. The valve cover is pretty easy to access and you can get to it right from under the hood but their is just a little clutter to get rid of before getting to the gasket. If you have the tools and resources to do such a job, by all means go for it! but I would double check to see if its the valve cover that is leaking. Look around the valve cover and underneath to see any seepage (using a light is a must or you might as well not even bother looking). Personally, if it is only seeping though, i would worry about it but if it is actually dripping, then I would replace it. This like might also help you out if you decide to do it on your own. http://imageshack.us/f/840/arrcebscohostcomsearche.png/
  13. Ya, i plan on testing both and resetting the mpg tracker on both and drive the same route and just see which gets better mpg. My real concern was winter, Ive been reading all about the 1.6l (because i cant find anything on the 1.5's yet) and from what I read, everyone gets like ~10 mpg less then EPA during the winter which would be a huge factor for me seeing as I live in Wisconsin. I dont want to have the same thing with the 1.5 happen bc if it does id rather go with the 2.5 with slightly less but steady mpg.
  14. Hey everyone! I am new to the forum and i going to be buying myself a new 2014 fusion se at the end of feb. I have pretty much everything picked out but the only thing i cant decide on is the engine. I cant decide between the stock 2.5l or the 1.5l ecoboost. They both have about the same hp and torque but my real hang up is, what gets better mpg? I dont expect either of them to get their stated mpg but does anyone have any actual mpg info they can give me on either of them? And is there any reason i should get one instead of the other? i do like that the 1.5 is turbo'd being a car fanatic myself but I also know that turbos can lead to possible problems in the future. Summary: What should I get, 2.5l or 1.5l and why? What gets better ACTUAL mpg. Thanks in advance!
