  1. Thanks alot guys. Appreciate all the info. I wanna take to my local mechanic that I trust before taking it to the dealership. I just trust dealerships less. So should general mechanics have the scanners that would tell the specifics of the airbag code? Or would it most likely be the dealerships?
  2. Does anyone know that if airbags and airbag module were replaced, does the check engine light go away automatically? OR does it need to be turned off by a special tool that Ford Dealerships have? I bought my '12 Fusion SE with a rebuilt title 2 years ago. Since I bought it, the car had the airbag light on the dash. The person I bought it from told me he replaced the side airbags(where the impact occurred). And he also told me that all that was needed to do was to 'reset' the airbag light from the dealership which he didn't do. I decided I wanna get it fixed now. So I called the local Ford Dealership and told them this was the scenario and how much they would charge to 'reset' the light since the airbags were replaced. The dealership told me that's not how it works. They said once the airbags are replaced the light should get reset. They told me I would need to bring it in and they will have to check it. So I'm hearing two different things. I am confused and don't wanna be gypped. Anyone know which is the truth?
  3. Those are 'Concave' style wheels. Where the center goes inwards. Search for them. They have few varieties from different companies. I found these. Hope that helps. http://wheelsshop.com/alloy/Bola+Wheels/B2/Gunmetal http://www.ebay.com/itm/Oxigin-Wheels-18-Concave-7-5x18-ET45-5x108-black-for-Jaguar-XJ-X-Type-/381536282808?hash=item58d555a8b8:g:aVwAAOSwGotWsJ7S&vxp=mtr http://www.dpe-wheels.com/index.php/collection/concave-series/csr05/
  4. Ah ok, good to know. Thanks for all the helpful info. I think I'm good to go for now. Won't bother mentioning anything to the dealership unless something is obvious. Back to enjoying the fusion.
  5. Thanks man, good advice. Actually, when I got the car few months back, the level was already down there. So I never thought of it being low. Plus I heard the bubbling when I got the car too. So I think it was just low since then. But anyways, I'll keep monitoring the levels in case there is some leak somewhere. Just glad I was able to catch it before something worse happened. Thanks alot you guys. P.S. No I didn't put the foil on the A/C suction line. A/C works great. Should I be concerned? Also I never hear the radiator fan kick in when the cars been idle. I only hear it with the A/C goes on. Is that normal also? I mean seems like the system has been cooling the engine efficiently hence it never overheated. Just wondering if normal operation for the fan is quite silent.
  6. I'd say it was somewhat cold when I filled it. The car was parked for 2 hours before I filled it. It was a bit higher than outdoor temperature.
  7. Ok so I checked the coolant level after the car cooled off. It wasn't fully cold but enough for me to open the cap. Just made a slight hissing sound as the pressure went out. Here is the picture: I think the coolant level might have been low. I was confused trying to read the coolant level indicator as it doesn't have the "minimum" and "maximum" indicator. Just the label "Cold Fill Level". So I filled to just a tad below "Cold Fill Level". Also when I tightened the cap, I did two 'clicks'. Not sure if that's too tight or loose. Was my fill level correct? I'm a work. By the time I get off, the engine should be completely cooled off. Should I check the level again and try to make it 'above' the cold fill level indicator? Or should I leave it at that level in the picture? I just don't want to overfill. I had bad experience with my 99 Taurus SHO when I overfilled the coolant and it exploded and made holes all over the reservoir.
  8. Got a 2012 Fusion about to hit 12k. So yesterday my buddy and I were in Sonics eating out and had the AC on. We were there for a good hour maybe more. It got pretty chilly so I turned the ac off after 30 mins. 20 minutes after turning the AC off, my eyes just happened to land on the temp gauge. It was more than the the half way mark, close to the top. I panicked and opened the hood and turned on the fan so at least some air could flow. Then it came down. I am not sure why that happened. Outside temp was just below 73F. My AC and heat work just fine. I think my radiator fan works fine too. Could it be the coolant sensor? Lately I've been smelling the coolant around the car when it's operating. Could be the warm air outside. But there doesn't seem to be any leaks. Also, when I start the car in the morning, I can hear the coolant move through the engine. Not sure if that's normal. Any thoughts? So far it only happened once. I'm about to go to Ford Dealership for my next oil change in a week or so. Wondering what I should tell them. Don't want them to overcharge me for extra services that weren't needed.
  9. Thanks alot guys for the info. Looks like I will go to dealer. But would it be cheaper if I buy the key from... say eBay and have the dealer cut it out and program it? Or is it cheaper to have the dealer get the key, cut it, and program it? I thought I saw uncut keys with unprogrammed chip for cheap on eBay.
  10. Hi guys, New to the forum and picked up a '12 Steel Blue Metallic Fusion SE from an owner. He only had one key. I'm trying to figure out the cheapest way to get another key or 2. I don't care about the extra functions like remote lock/unlock. But rather just to start the car. I dont mind opening the door with the key as long as I can start the car. Anyways, I've seen two different methods. And I'm confused. Can anyone clarify? Here they are: 1. 2. http://support.ford.com/vehicle-features/program-integrated-keyhead-transmitter On the first link video, the guy has the same key as mine and is doing that on a 2011 Fusion. Someone commented that you can do that with only one key. On the second link from Fords site, they describe the key as the "Integrated Keyhead Transmitter" and to program a new key, you will need TWO working keys. But both methods are different. So which one works for which model? The key I have looks like the picture below and has "HA" engraved on the back.
