I tried that procedure on my 2013 SE 2.0 ecoboost and I could not get the horn to honk. I tried it switching fast, switching slow, with the service brake depressed and not depressed, emergency brake off and on, with the doors locked and unlocked, etc. I also tried switching it 7 and then 8 times on and off, ending in on. Nothing would trigger the horn honk or get it in programming mode. I promise I'm not an idiot. Lol. I am familiar with the ignition switch programming trigger in other Fords, so I assume you use similar timing. We use a similar procedure in our Mustang to program the Tpms sensors when we switch from summer to winter wheels.
Is it possible my remote start isn't activated properly from the dealer? I have all the menu options for run time, climate control, etc. and they all work, though. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ive had this extra fob for a week and been pulling my hair out trying to program it.
