  1. Yeah that's exactly what I'm doing. Insurance is going to contact me monday
  2. Hey just an update. I discovered that the two cars next to mine were struck by lightning and their computers were totally fried as well as some other damage. I think my car got some of the static shock and is the cause to all this misery. Thought that was interesting, we did get upwards of 6000 strikes per 15 minutes that night so I'm not totally suprised. Makes a lot more sense then jumping someone's car and getting these problems
  3. So got the dealer to diagnosis this problem and it looks like I'll need a ford alternator and also an abs module. Anyone have any idea the process of installing abs module?
  4. Also probes are on the ground and positive terminal, the terminals are also very clean with a good battery.
  5. I have a hunch it's maybe the PCM, don't know if that also controls the braking or fan unit
  6. Yeah that's what I was thinking. The shop seems very good with good recommendations but maybe a ford dealer would be better, even for the price, since they know their fords.
  7. It also isn't running correctly with a very low idle and one time while the mechanic was pulling codes it started to overheat because the fan didn't turn on(he did see a fan circuit fail). There is some control module that has failed I think and it's just a matter of finding which one.
  8. Well I got 13.5 volt output indication with my voltmeter so it's definitely charging. Although the lights are still all on.. It's at the shop now and they are trying to figure it out. Looks like it's stumping them too... I'll keep you updated.
  9. So took it to a mechanic and they were convinced it was a bad alternator and I did replace it. Although it is charging now the battery light remains on with the abs and parking break light. Any suggestions.
  10. Yeah I wouldn't even deal with the PCM just wanted to know if that could prevent it from charging.
  11. Could a bad PCM make the alternator not work?
  12. Hey so got the alternator out and had advanced auto parts check it and it checked good. Put it back in and still no good. Belt is wicked tight and the alternator is grounded and the only thing I don't know about is this powertrain control module and instrument cluster which seems according the the schematic outputs "I" and "s" go to. Any suggestions
  13. Yeah I had 12v there with the car off so i know that the fuses are blown. I'm thinking maybe they gave me a bad alternator. Took out the new one and am going to bring it to advanced to test it out
  14. Is there a way to test the output directly from the alternator?
  15. HELP replaced the alternator today and it still isn't charging. I guess it could be the new alternator but I find that unlikely, any suggestions would be great. It looks like it is spinning and I don't know how to test that besides the quality of the belt which looks good. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
