  1. Now it's the passenger door and right rear door, that is intermittent with the key fob. Is it possible that somebody else has a Ford Fusion with a key fob that can lock/unlock my doors?
  2. I spoke with the service dept. (Tower Ford) a short while ago. I was informed that they would not get paid by Ford to take apart the door twice: once to diagnose the problem, and a second time to install any parts one they arrive. They are putting me on the waiting list for a loaner should one become available sooner - but, I've made an appointment for May 13th, which is currently the first date for an available loaner. They just got 15 new loaners with 2 of them in bad accidents and many other customers.
  3. I have previously learned that if I wait while they diagnose the problem, I get stuck there for several hours - Even when I make an appointment I usually takes them well over an hour just to get to my car (left over work from the day before). They use Enterprise and the cheapest rate for an economy car is $36.95+taxes. It would be grate to get a rental for $18 a day - the rates must have to do with location. If I were to have it diagnosed and then bring it back - then I would have to schedule a 2nd loaner, as the wait time for getting it done would be another several hours.
  4. This morning I found that I can unlock the driver's door with the key fob, but I do have to lock it manually. I also found that the door solenoid is not available (which was the problem last time) it has to be special ordered. The soonest Tower Ford would have a loaner available is May 13th, my Premier Extended would pay $30 per day for a rental - but we all know there would be add on taxes to that $30.
  5. Once again - just about a year to date, now the driver's door electronic (key fob) lock is failing. A year ago it was the left rear door with the driver's door being intermittent. Now it's just the driver's door. I do have an extended warranty. The car will be 6 years old in June and now has 39,400 miles. So, now I have to lock the driver's door manually and then put the window's down (with the key fob) to reach in to pull the inside handle to open the door. Is there any adjustment, to only put down the driver's window with the key fob? Last I spoke with Tower Ford they had no loaner cars as they had reached the 5,000 mile mark - they were waiting for "new" loaner's.

No, to the re-learn procedure. I will have to see if I can disconnect the battery. The battery is a Ford 5 year battery, it was installed in Aug. 2017.

OK - thanks again. I do have an extended warranty, perhaps the codes will tell me if it's a a warranty issue - I guess as the cars ages more problems will arise.

Thanks for the info & the link. Is that like the gadget that's been advertised on TV - you plug it into the socket under the dashboard and it gives information on a smartphone? In NYC traffic, it might be a bit difficult to use it. I was thinking about getting one, but most of the stuff advertised for cars on TV turns out to be junk.

I have to admit - I have no idea what an OBD2 scan tool is.

Hello: Yesterday, while sitting in traffic with my foot on the brake the car stalled, while in drive. The car did start again right away. Earlier in the day I did notice a very momentary vibration two separate times also while at a stop - I did have the heater on.
  11. Oh, but they were leaking - I saw how they were leaking when they were removed.
  12. OK, but if in fact the calipers had been leaking for a period of time - would that not have caused a lose of brake fluid and brake pressure, and poor or difficulty with applying the brakes? I did not experience any problems with braking.
  13. As am I. But my mechanic informed me that without taking it all apart - a leak or leaks would not be visible.
  14. Thank you for all the input & advice - greatly appreciated!!
  15. The brake performance was OK - which is why I thought the Ford Service Advisor was just looking for more work (and money). No problem with brake fluid either.
