Hi everyone, I'm new here. I plan to upgrade the factory radio in my 07 Fusion Se because it does not work now. While installing the new aftermarket head unit, I got a problem with the factory antenna. Attached is a photo of it. I'm completely confused because it does not fit into the antenna adapter for my HU. I bought the aftermarket HU from crutchfield which also sends me an antenna adapter that is supposed to fit my vehicle's factory antenna. I checked with crutchield and they told me the antenna adapter is the "right" one. I bought this car used, and I was told by its previous owner that the factory stereo did not work. When I removed the factory radio, I realized that the car antenna was unplugged! It seemed to me that some modification had been applied to the factory antenna. I'm now really wondering whether the antenna is the original factory one? If not, what kind adapter do I need to use it? The second picture is the antenna adapter that comes with the aftermarket HU from crutchfield. Thanks!
