  1. Hey Guys, I haven't been around for a long while, and wasn't that active here when I was. But, I could definitely use some help. I just moved from Oregon to Colorado, and before I left I had a Ford dealership in Oregon change my oil. Fast forward a few weeks, my car broke down on a family trip in Colorado (thankfully not during my move) making a loud clicking noise from the block and was towed to the closest dealership in Colorado, who discovered tool marks on a cracked oil filter housing where all of the oil leaked out, destroying my engine. The check engine light had not come on at all, and the oil pressure light flicked on for less than a second while cornering one or two times, but was not on for at least 5 days prior to the break down. Currently, the dealer that changed my oil is stating that it isn't completely their fault because I had one oil change at a different place (not Jiffy Lube) and there is no way that they (the dealer) claim they, "could not have caused" the tool marks, which obviously isn't true as they could have caused the damage. More importantly, however, is that I would expect them to inspect the oil filter housing when they change the oil, or if there is obvious damage to the filter housing as the Colorado dealer stated, it should have been easy for them to see and report to me. There is no documentation of the damaged housing on the invoice returned to me, or any verbal report when I picked up my car as it was in "great shape." The dealer has been awful, and numerous others have had other poor experiences with this dealership regarding service. 1. Thoughts? What would you guys do to get the dealer to pay for the damage that they caused? 2. I have been looking for the 2009 Fusion Service manual to look at torquing specs of the oil filter plug, it if states the housing should be inspected, etc. Does anybody have an official service manual and can they send me scans/pictures of the pages regarding oil changes? 3. I don't think I'm out of line here regarding their responsibility for the damage, however I might be. I'll take feedback on that too. Thanks! Skipbo
  2. Alright, here's the finished product in my 2009 Fusion. Works great, looks pretty good. This was the only carpet I could find in my area but if I run into some darker stuff that matches better I will probably recarpet the box to make it less noticable. It was my first attempt at using fiberglass to make a speaker box and I think it turned out pretty well. Eventually I'm going to cover the subwoofer with some speaker mesh or a nonchalant grill of some kind. If you've got any questions, let me know. The process would be the same on essentially any car or open space in the trunk .
  3. Alright, is anyone familiar with the differences in the SJB between the 2008-2009 and 2010-2012? There seems to be some, but I am not sure what. I've found where the sunload sensor is supposed to install on my 2009, is it significantly different than the 2010? I can't seem to find any diagrams for the 2010 but I imagine that it will, or should, work similarly with the SJB as the sensor itself is the same part. Here are some diagrams for the 2009, are they similar?
  4. I guess I should also ask will this work on a 2009 fusion se? I'm wondering if I may have been a bit hasty in jumping into this project.
  5. Does your head unit have an amp turn on wire? That might be the easiest.
  6. Here's what I've got so far. I don't have any of the pictures from the actual making of the box, but I can explain it more when I have it finished. The first picture is just the back of the box with the ring from a profile view, and the next is the box covered in fabric so I can fiberglass the front of it. It's going to house 1 10" subwoofer.
  7. Right, but my understanding is that with the SEL switch installed, the headlights should turn on and off with the ignition being on or off when automatic is selected on the headlight switch. Am I misunderstanding this? Do I still need to manually turn the headlight switch to off when the ignition is off until the sun load sensor is installed?
  8. I'm working on a custom box to fit that space right now with a 10" subwoofer, I'll let you know how it turns out.
  9. I realize that this post is quite old, but it inspired me to add auto headlights to my 2009 SE. All the parts are on their way, but I have already received the headlight switch from the SEL with the automatic setting. It was incredibly easy to install. However, if I turn it to automatic even with the key not in the ignition, the lights turn on. When I turn the car off the the headlights in the automatic setting, the car dings at me like it would with the other switch when my lights were on. Did I get a bad switch? Any other ideas?
