  1. I went with Goodyear Aquatreds, partly because they had good reviews and partly because Goodyear was offering an $80 credit card with them at the time. I wanted a smooth, quiet ride, and that's what I got with them. I'm very pleased. But they're not cheap. I don't know about traction in the wet. I don't live in the snow belt.
  2. I was provided with Michelin Energy tires for my 2015 Fusion Hybrid. I was hoping for a tire with a quiet, smooth ride and good mileage. And that is exactly what I got. I'm not interested in high-performance or excellent traction. If you live in the Snow Belt you might be better served with Michelin MXV4 tires. Otherwise you might consider the Energy tires.
  3. Hi Dominic: I'm sorry to hear about all the problems you've been having with your Fusion. I now have 10,000 miles on my 2015 Ford Fusion Limited Hybrid and have encountered no stalling or electrical problems with it. In fact I have had no failures at all. I have provided Ford Motor Company Headquarters my opinion of the vehicle, with recommendations for improvements. But all my comments have to do with design, not with hardware or electrical failures. And those matters ar subjective. The integration between the electric motor and internal combustion engine is seamless. The ride is quiet and comfortable and I achieve approximately 45 MPG. The CVT transmission is very reliable. The major problem I have is with the integration between the hybrid/gas engine instrumentation. There are many bells and whistles that, I feel, are too complicated or just not useful. "Too much fluff" I stated. The one major difficulty I observed was with the headlights. I don't believe halogen headlight bulbs are compatible with the tubes in which they are mounted. I immediately converted the system to HID bulbs. I believe all vehicles today should include them as standard equipment. But that's just me. I am dissatisfied with the GPS, but I expected that. I have never encountered a GPS system without major hiccups. I believe the technology still needs improvements. My car was assembled at an assembly plant in Mexico. I assume yours was too. Perhaps there is a problem there. I would definitely pursue your case through the legal process. Kudos to Ford Motor Company for even publishing your scalding review. If I had read it before my Fusion purchase I probably wouldn't have bought it all. But I have no regrets. Bottom line: If I had the opportunity to purchase it again, I probably would. Good luck, Kermit
  4. The transmission gear ("D," "L" etc) is indicated on the dash, but not on the gear shift lever indicato on the center console. So there is no way to reference the appropriate gear from that source. At night the gear shift indicator is illuminated by an ambiant light, but that still doesn't indicate the specific gear. Is this the normal routine? If so, I don't see any use of lighting the gear shift lever, in total, at night.
  5. Wow! You did a HID mod to the vehicle and the dealer offered to pay for the damage the installation caused? Don't leave that dealer. I'm having a problem with an HID mod and am hesitant to approach the dealer.
  6. I had 4300k Xenon bulbs installed in my previous vehicle (not a Ford) and they approximated the OEM bulb tint. And I had no problems with them. However, when I tried to convert to Xenon bulbs with my 2015 Ford Fusion hybrid I experienced a major problem. The problem occurred when the relay in the bulb wiring harness blew, disabling the low beams. I installed another relay, which also blew. I'm now working on my 3rd relay which, I expect, will also fail. I can't figure out what the problem is. I'm hesitant to drive at night. The harness is securely grounded. The Xenon bulb kit dealer stated he has never witnessed relays blowing like this. Does anyone have any ideas? And this may or may not be related: I can find no reference to a headlight fuse in the manual. I also cannot find it in any fuse box. I assume it has one.
  7. Does anyone know where the headlight fuse is located in a 2015 Ford Fusion Titanium Hybrid? I cannot locate it under the hood and it is not referenced in the manual.
  8. Your door won't pop open and my door won't stay shut. After exiting an automatic car wash I noticed it was open. Evidently a scrub brush pushed in the door enough to spring it open. I don't know if water entered the nozzle or not. I don't know how to avoid this other than to avoid car washes. I would prefer a door release under the dash and a screw cap on the nozzle.
  9. I have a string of, what I assume to be, LED lights mounted on the roof above the rear window of my 2015 Fusion Titanium Hybrid. Can anyone tell me their function? .
  10. I believe I found the source of the tire rub. It usually occurs when I make sharp, compound turns. One example: When I make a 90 degree turn from a slight downgrade to a steeper downgrade, this action is sometimes sufficient to initiate the rub. In front of the front wheels are rubber flaps, resembling somewhat like mud flaps. When the suspension is compressed sufficiently these flaps will rub against the tires. I can feel burs on the flaps for both front wheels to prove it. I suspect a little cutting or filing on the affected will eliminate the problem. A 3/8" or 1/4" deep cut in the affected area should do it.
  11. I installed 4300k HID lights on my previous car. I had ordered the parts from xenon supply. Their customer service is first rate and the HID lights were a vast improvement over the halogens. Mini ballasts and a relay harness were included with the kit. Next week I'm going to install a similar kit on my 2015 Fusion Hybrid. I'm no looking forward to the removal of the light assemblies.
  12. I ordered a 4300k HID low beam light kit with a relay wire for my 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid. Has anyone experienced any problems or have any suggestions regarding the installation? Any problems removing or re-installing the light assembly? Since my 12v battery is located in the trunk, I'm curious as to where the relay wire can be connected under the hood. Also, I'm looking for mounting suggestions for the ballasts.
  13. Sometimes when I turn I hear what sounds like a tire rub in a front tire. It occurs in the right front tire when I take a left turn and in the left front tire when I turn right. It usually occurs when there is a road variance into the turn. For example, it often occurs when I make a left turn and descend down a hill simultaneously. The dealer said they removed a "clip" that was causing the problem. But the problem is still evident. Other than this anomaly the suspension seems to be fine,
