  1. Did the black plastic wind deflector break off and is that what is holding the inner slide from working correctly? There are a couple write ups on this site over sun roofs not closing correctly. Just a thought to try and help. http://www.fordfusionforum.com/gallery/image/1062-broken-piece-on-sunroof/
  2. Today I installed a 7T4G-AG navigation head from an 08 Ford Edge into my SEL. I took out the original and found that the new head had all the options turned on with the exception of Sirius. The DVD player was even usable thru the line in function, as well as back up camera functions. I exchanged it directly with the factory CD6 radio. I have auto air conditioning, and surprisingly all the factory steering wheel switches worked correctly. Usually you have to switch the right side control switch, to make things work correctly, but these work as they are suppose to with a navigation head. I'm sure the ones without the auto air conditioning, would not be right, as they only have the basic commands on them. If I wanted to use SYNC from the wheel, I would of had to exchange the right side to a SW6622 switch to control the functions. I just used the supplied controller in the kit, so I didn't need the one on the strg wheel. I took my spare 9D3Z-14D412-A Ford SYNC kit, added it to see if the SYNC function would work. I used a Job 2 radio, so it was a simple 10 minute hook up. I decided to add the two wires to the J3 plug on the back of the radio so that I could add the line-in function. I also added the 3 wires to the J1 plug, so that I could use the factory SYNC style autodim rear view mirror with microphone if I so desired at a later time. I also added the 3.5 mm earphone style plug inside my console, but am thinking that I should add another on the front of the console, in the area around the power receptacle. As it is now, it is a bit cumbersome to reach inside the console, but that is where the 07-up Mustang has it from Ford, so I went with the same idea. Needless to say, the question if you can add SYNC to an 06-07 Fusion, the answer is YES. You must be sure to use a Job 2 radio head, otherwise it will not work. The only thing you will run into is a U2473 code, but that is one that doesn't interfere with use or direction. It says that the speed sensor isn't reading right, but your head will have you accurate within 10 feet of where you are, so it isn't a big deal. If anyone wants any information I will be glad to give you what I can.
  3. It is a sealed bearing. It goes on one side (inside) of the steering knuckle and is retained there. The hub is then pressed into the bearing from the outside until it seats. There will be no side to side movement when it is correct. You have to have the knuckle and press out the hub, then press it back into the new bearing. Then you are able to reinstall into your car and should be good to go. There is not put together bearing since it has to be pressed together to work. The rear bearings are assembled and are a simple change out. The fronts, not nearly as simple.
  4. The answer is YES you can. You will need the SYNC kit from Ford, a job 2 style head (SYNC and chrome rings around knobs). You can use an 07 late head, but it must be job 2, SYNC compatable. The kit is from Ford. It is 9R3Z-14D212-A. It has a list of over $600 from Ford, but there are kits on eBay for under 75 occasionally. I bought 3 of them and used them all in peoples 06 and up F150's and my 07 Mustang also. I'm adding a kit into this 06 Fusion I bought today, this weekend. I am using a factory 8G1T-18k931-GA navigation head out of a 08 Taurus. Everything is 100% compatible to the Fusion, including the steering wheel controls. Using an (8 or 9) prefix radio, makes all the difference in if you can add SYNC. This is the very set up I put into the 07 Mustang and added the 2013 Boss steering wheel and added audio control wiring to make the steering wheel controls work correctly. It was a great mod. The kit comes with the harness, module, microphone and what is needed to add the system to the job 2 heads. The one thing i ran into was that the original new module is only base programmed. To get everything to work correctly, you have to have a radio shop or dealer program the module for your car. My local dealer can't and won't do these modifications, so I went about it myself. I went to the wrecking yard and found a Fusion/Milan that had steering wheel controls and removed the SYNC module. There are two styles, so you need the second design to fit the kit. Installing the programmed module, everything works. Just thought I'd throw that out to you guys here. The link to the installation on a Mustang install is here. The SYNC add is in the first 7 pages, and it entails adding SYNC system to the job 2 heads. Good luck. http://themustangsource.com/forums/f692/steering-wheel-audio-mods-528705/
  5. Your first picture is the original antenna that someone took the end off of. You should of had that end you are showing (pic 2) originally on your antenna wire, unless you had a base unit head. Then you could of had an old style straight male plug. The second picture is what the CD6,Shaker and Navigation heads use for the antenna. You may have to replace the antenna base with a new one to make it work. I don't think that you can buy a male plug separate and put back on. I just joined this forum, but have been active in Mustang and F150 forums all over, and have come across this very situation in the Mustangs. They come with the Chrysler style antenna (picture 2). CRB20 is one number for the male into female and to Chrysler style end. It is available from Schoche. Metra makes one also, but I don't have that number available. You might try the Metra ecatalog and see if you can find a piece to replace what has been removed from yours. Good luck.
