  1. I agree, you would think transmission longevity would be figured out by know but new cars seem to be going backwards. I drained my tranny fluid (65,000 miles) recently after learning of the filter being non accessible. I was surprised how dark the fluid was. I plan on draining the fluid every other oil change till it clears up.
  2. Thanks for the pictures. Do you happen to have the part number for the sensor you replaced? Thanks!!
  3. This is the video I referred to when replacing the purge valve on my 2.0 Fusion..
  4. I had the same issue and it was resolved by replacing the purge valve. This video might help... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meuO6syzkdw&list=LLWnGdJz4zWJQf5vpbyuzWMA&index=1
  5. I was able to fix this by replacing the purge valve.
  6. Make sure there isn't any rust build up on the pad bracket. Here is a great video on replacing pads, not for a Fusion but covers most makes -
  7. Just completed this repair myself. It's not the easiest repair I've done but not the worst. The bottom connection is the worst part. I used a 90 degree pick to break the connector loose. To reinstall the new part make sure you push the new hose connector on all the way. You should feel it "pop" on. The plastic clamps won't close unless it's on all the way. Here is where I found it the cheapest - https://www.midwestpartsdepot.com/oem-parts/ford-hose-assembly-dg9z9d289d/?c=aT1LRjEzMzgwNSZyPTg%3D
  8. Just a quick follow up - The new part came in today. As expected the lower hose is a BEAR to install due to limited space but it can be done without removing anything, although I was really tempted to remove the radiator hoses that were in the way. When reinstalling the bottom connection be sure to push it in all the way. If the clips wont push in with a fair amount of force it's because the hose is not on all the way. It almost felt like it "popped" on when pushed all the way on, which with the aid of a very long screwdriver and a little prying action against the alternator got it on finally. The rest was a breeze. For what it's worth, one way to know if your old valve is bad is to blow into it. The old one was stuck open, the new was shut. Hope that helps! Jeff
  9. I've done some more research on this problem. Found this video - My car is making the exact some odd noise. I went ahead and ordered a new Purge Valve Hose Assembly (including purge valve) part #: DG9Z-9D289-D. While I wait for that to come in I took the old one off. Anyone doing this yourself, do yourself a favor and use a 90 deg pick for the lower connector, it's a tight squeeze. Here is another video with helpful info..
  10. Did you ever get this issue resolved? I am having the same issue and would like to fix it myself if possible. Thanks!!!
  11. My wife filled our 2013 Fusion 2.0L with gas today. All was fine till she went to start it and she claims it stumble and stalled. She hit the button again and it started fine. Later that day the CEL came on so I checked the codes with a scanner. Its shows a P2196 - O2 Sensor Signal Stuck Lean Bank 1, Sensor 1. Anyone else had this issue? Thanks!! Jeff
  12. Yes, I have the same thing happen. Fill the car with gas. As I'm leaving the station the car will stutter for a second then be fine. No check engine light involved. Odd..

  14. Did you recently remove a license plate frame? When we first bought our Fusion it had the ugly dealership free advertising frame that you could clearly see on the screen. Needless to say its gone now!
  15. I would try disconnecting the battery for a minute and reconnecting. I had bluetooth issues once and this corrected it.
