  1. Hmmm after 2 days no response... must have stumped them... 8)
  2. So, I was looking at the 2 installers, and saw a HUGE mistake there.... see my screen grab of what I'm seeing... So there is a file listed that is in the one installer, that does not exist in the SyncMyRide folder, and I would rename it if I knew which one it's supposed to be. 8)
  3. From the album: My Pics

This is a grab of what files are in the 4.6 folder and what the scripts are looking for.
  4. Ok, so I downloaded the file , unpacked it using my Win10 PC (the mac works too but it doesn't unpack the folder/file correctly) Put the 2 scripts (autoinstall.lst and install.lst) in the root, and the SyncMyRide folder in the root with all the other files in it. Told the car to do the update, and it comes back and says 'can't find file'. Doesn't say what file it's looking for and where... I guess the programmers at ford are lame
  5. I might have gotten that file.... the actual file name was the same as the other one I got a few weeks ago, but when I upzip it there is an extra file in there.... That being said, I attempted to try it, but it's still saying that there is a missing file... it would be nice if I (we) knew what it was looking for... On another note, my Pioneer 8100 in my 2012 Fusion using MaestroRR DOES seem to be able to do the update for SYNC!!!! NOW if we can only get a working installer for it!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. It's in, and everything works from the Sync, I can even fade front to back... wasn't that one of the things mentioned that they said wouldn't do? I'm not sure IF this can happen, I'd LIKE it if I could turn off the upper display, like when it was stock so that just the Time shows... and I'm hoping it can still do the Updates... wishful thinking...
  7. Well it's in. I like that I was able to keep the Sync stuff, but I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to update the OS on it, as the buttons that you'd use to navigate to the menus is not there now... I'm hoping that someone here has put in a 3rd party nav, and kept the Sync and knows how or IF you can do more than see the Time, Temps and the info from the HU (like artist and song and Radio station numbers. 8) If not , it's not a big deal, the HU works flalessly... so far it seems to work better then when it was in my old car. 8)
  8. I've been down that road before with my old Kenwood 990HD... no updates for over a year... then .... suddenly there was an update... not long after I upgraded to a Pioneer 8100.. That will be going in my car tomorrow.... I'm hoping that when (if?) the next Sync update becomes available I'll be able to do it... this install is not supposed to affect Sync at all... except there will not be a stock radio for it to see. What I've seen so far is that the list of commends is VERY small for my unit, but on top of that I can't tell Sync to do anything with my iPod Touch... it tells me it doesn't work with that device... I'd think that then the iPhones will not work either... good thing I'm Android. 8)
  9. Just thought I'd put my 3 cents in ... 8) Just bought a 2012 Fusion SEL... I would have rather had the newer style, but this was in my budget, so maybe in a year or so... So far I'm loving this car. I came from a 2002 Saturn SC1 with no features... crack windows, stick shift... UGH... This is my first Ford and plan to stay.... unless I can afford something MUCH better.. hehe I've had a BMW that I liked a lot, then 3 Kia's the last being the '12 Optima Hybrid of which I miss... But now that the newer Fusions are here, and I've test driven them I'll stay Ford. The Optima was a great car, but I like the Fusion better.
  10. I just bought my 2012 Fusion SEL w/ v6 I was told that my Sync is at 4.2.something My concern is that I'll be upgrading this to have a 3rd party Nav, and although it should not affect the Sync part (i.e. everything is useable) , but that I might not get the Full benefits from my current version till then or after. I'm useing a current ipod touch and when I try to use Sync to play something specific, it tells me it can do that. Was that something it COULD do with earlyer ipods , but not now till this Sync update? I know that Sync is now 4plus years old, but it'd be nice if Ford would either fix this 'patch' or just say it's not supported anymore and be done with it. 8)
  11. yea, the Maestro RR is what I would like, but I've read it doesn't give the OEM stuff on Pioneers 8100 (maybe the 8200) The Raptor issue I hope to not have to have any of that happen, but the PAC is the other possibility... The place I go to is very knowledgable so we'll see. It's not going to happen for a few weeks anyway, so I can do a lot of research
  12. Kewl, I was hoping it was separate from the HU. If it needs the adapter I'm sure my guys will tell me. Love the sound on the stock HU, hoping it remains with the new HU... I doubt it'll keep the surround sound (not that anything uses it now), but I'm hopeful.... 8)
  13. I ended up calling Ford, she said that they were aware of the problem and the 4.4 that is currently there does not work, but no word on when it will get fixed.... I'm hoping that they fix it before I put my Pioneer 8100 in , not sure if it will matter though....
  14. I recently purchased a 2012 Fusion SEL with Sync I did the web site and the thing where you tell the car to give you an update on it's condition. The web site said I was due for an update to Sync so I downloaded the file expanded it and copied it to an empty flash drive after a few attempts (the instructions are not very good BTW) I was able to figure out how to tell it to do the update, but then it said the files were wrong. anything I can do here? No Nav BTW, just the LED single line display....
  15. I just picked up a used 2012 Fusion SEL with the Sony sound but no nav. When I put my Pioneer 8100 in, I know that the OEM stereo sounds great. Does it have a separate amp, or is that sound coming direct from the HU? And if there is a separate amp, will the 8100 be able to utilize it? I know the Sync is the older version, can that get updated to a newer one? Once the 8100 is in, and there is a Sync update (probably won't be), can I still use the USB port in the center console to update it? Is there anything I should know before the 8100 gets put in? 8)
