  3. I'm guessing it goes on a lot. I've seen several X-Plans go unused. Oh well. We have explained it numerous times. I'm quiting trying - guess you feel the same way. I'm going out to the Regional office in early March for a retiree meeting. Hope to get some insight on the Electric Focus. Looks like the IRS and Ga. tax incentives will be very big on this one. We might want to "invest" if they don't hold them all back for fleets.
  4. Order by 3/31/2010 = $850 tax credit ---after that $0. (The Fusion Hybrid tax credit started at $3,400 and went to $1,700 on 4/1/2009 and to $850 on 9/1/2009.) The 8910 form is confusing. I think you may need to file an amended return for 2009 to get the credit.
  5. If you ordered the vehicle, the "purchase" date was the committment to purchase (order) date. In service date is when you took possession of the FFH. The IRS forms are confusing. Look back to previous forum messages on the tax credit.
  6. Like you have said before, if you think it's a good deal, then it is. I almost wish there was a forum for AXZD buyers where we could discuss all the current incentives, dealer cash, local promotions, RCL and residual information, short term ESP deals (contests), finance rates, dealer installed and mod shop accessories, etc. Clearly it is too much information for a retail buyer to have access to or for them to try to utilize to their benefit. Most sales people don't even know all that might be out there since thry don't have access to C&I or VinCent information. The controlled Ford sites for plan buyers don't permit us to interact with each other, discuss lease/buy alternatives and they don'tt always include the latest and most complete offerings. That could be a great resource for Plan buyers. I want consumers to get good deals but I also expect dealerships to be able to pay sales personnel and the light bill, so I will cautiously interact on pricing and remind people that you don't know the whole deal when someone justs quotes "the price of the car".
  7. The FFH uses very little brake pad to slow and stop the car. The light surface rust that developes can cause the squeal. Not sure how new pads would stop this unless they are slightly thicker and make enough contact to keep the rust to a minimum. When mine do this I perform an agressive stop - energizing the brakes in addition to the regenerative charging system to stop the car. Wipes the surface rust off for a week or better.

  10. I let them give me a "deal" for 6 months and found after that time they billed my credit card for a renewal at full price. So if you don't want to pay full price, call and cancel before your renewal date. On another vehicle(after the first 6 mo0nths) , I got 3 months for half price but told them up front no-automatic renewal. It died in 3 months and I havn't heard from them again. Don't miss it a bit.
  11. Over 70% of new Ford products come with SYNC or MyTouch - so somebody is buying it. Gets better every year and I suspect it sells a lot of vehicles for Ford.
  12. You don't say where you are from, but most states have a 12 month / 12,000 mile limit for Lemon Law. Ask to see the dealer principal and see what they can do for you. They may be able to get the Ford service rep or field service engineer involved. No threats, just not satisfied. Tell him/her that you want to continue buying from them, but you need help with your Fusion.
  13. Like we have said before - the selling price of the vehicle is only one part of the equation. A dealership can sell under invoice (net) if the customer will pay big Doc. fees, buy fabric and paint protedtion, extended service plans, prepaid maintenance, theft deterent etching/LoJack, nitrogen filled tires, let the deakership arrange financing, etc. and take less than book tradi-in value on their trade. Unless we knew the total transaction, it would be hard to truly compare "deals". (Are you enjoying the SNOW?)
  14. Allocation is based on the dealerships sales and current inventory. Sell more and turn inventory fast and you get more vehicles. Sometimees a series may be limited to a set percentage of your model purchases (- ie. onkly 20% Sports). There is still something wrong in the less than X-Plan scanerio. (Dealer cash?--Local incentive? Fees? Trade-In?)

  16. I use the coupons from mailers or on the dealers' web sites and always have a Ford dealership do my maintenance. Oil changes at 7-8,000 miles. I won't keep the vehicle beyond 3/36 and I want the highest trade in I can get. Known recorded maintenance always helps.
  17. Sounds like a great deal. I guess it will track codes that indicate problems or potential problems. It will let the engineers know if the systems self corrected or if problems persisted. I would gladly participate
  18. The plant was down for 2 weeks before New Years so that adds some time to the normal scheduling. Plus, the orders for the I4 are so heavy that they are running bejind the V6's by a couple of weeks. If your dealership has their DORA, that will tell you if their are any commodity (options) issues and what priority they put on the order.
  19. Just to add to what my friend BBF has stated-- Ask them to run a Vincent report on your vin - that will give all the available incentives for that vehicle. Sometimes there are AARP, Quarterhorse Association, military, college grad or even local incentives that the rest of the country does not get. Vincent = VIN + Incentives. Plan buyers are also eligible to get the "dealer incentives" that never get advertised. Remember, you are only eligible for the incentives that are offered to your zip code (where the vehicle will be registered) - regardless where you obtain the vehicle. Dealerships and Ford put money into a local fund that the dealer association uses for advertising, local promotions, salesperson "spiffs" and local discounts. That is why they always ask for your zip. The next zip code over from you might get a different deal. If a dealership tells you they will sell you the vehicle at "plan" price and you won't even need the PIN - they are planning to keep the incentives for themselves as it is worth more that their commission for handling the plan deal.
  20. Last I heard, they will be building 2011 Fusions until June 3, 2011. Order guides for the 2012's come out in Feb. Someone may have confused it with the Focus timing. They start building the 2012's the end of Jan.
  21. 20 months on a fully loaded FFH and ZERO problems - Nav, rear camera, SYNC, BLIS,etc.

Since the "dumb masses" are considered to be incapable of makeing decisions, excercising free will or taking responsibility for their lives, the Imperial Federal Government will continue to erode freedoms and expand control over every aspect of our existance. They do it for our own good and for their greater glory It's called being Progressive. How long will it take before they set our daily menu, pick jobs for us and design our vehicles?
  23. We have had over 100 new vehicles including Jaguars, Lincoln/Mercury, Ford and Chevrolets. Our FFH is the best built, technologically advanced and fun to drive vehicle we have ever owned/leased. The biggest problem I have with it is that my wife thinks it's hers and makes me drive the MKX.
  24. There is likely a light coating of rust on the brake rotors after sitting overnight or longer periods. The FFH uses so little brake function that it may take a while to "scrape off" any rust that has formed. Most braking is done by the electric motor/generator. II will be suprised if they tell you it is anything but normal - unless your service advisor is not familiar with hybrid operation.
  25. A service advisor is not going to know if you can disable the feature. You need to ask a tech that is familiar with the accessory delay "computer" to determine - if they cannot disable it, if they can adjust the time delay to one minute or so. It may be part of a diagnostic/trouble shooting procedure.
