  1. Everyone is missing the point. The dash lights ARE set as bright as possible. There times of the day when it's not bright enough to illuminate the gauges but dark enough for the headlights to come on. Must people refer those times as dusk, dawn, or twilight. Or when it's foggy, raining, misting, etc. There seems to be more attempts be the engineers to take away the driver's choices.
  2. First, would someone show where in my original post I said anything about AT NIGHT. I thought this point would be moot after some ##$%# who was concerned about texting than driving totaled my Fusion and I replaced it with an 2014 MKZ with the technology package. Nope. Anyway, there are two reasons I drive with headlights on all the time. First, it's safer and makes the vehicle easier to see no matter the weather. I've been doing it for 45+ years. Second, in Ohio the law basically says if the wipers are on the headlights are on. Or in inclement weather. Or from 1/2 hour before sunset to 1/2 hour after sunrise. As an example, today it drizzling and dusky and the headlights came on. Unfortunately, the controls on the console disappeared and the gauges became practically unreadable. So, again I ask, is there any way to disable this action?
  3. I have an LG Android phone that normally works well with Sync in my 2014 Fusion. The problem i have is that when I tell the phon to play the Google map direction thru the bluetooth connection, nothing happen. I've tried playing the test sound and nothing. When I turn off the bluetooth option on the phone, everything is copacetic. The has no effect on placing or answering calls. Is this a Sync bluetooth problem, LG android problem, or just scheistlich programming by Google and / or Microsoft?
  4. I used to own a Chrysler Cirrus that was the last car that allowed you to disable the idiotic dash lighting auto-dim. Since Ford thought it would be cute to not have the driving lights function on my Fusion I covered the sensor with some foil. Now, the dash dims so far the instruments are barely visible at night, let alone day time. Is there any way to disable, kill, cancel, or otherwise obliterate this idiotic feature?
  5. Whatever happened to just pulling / pushing a switch to turn on the lights? Why do the lights have to be controlled by a computer? How stupid.
  6. Chrysler got it right on the '96 Cirrus we had. You could disable the stupid automatically dimming of the dash lights when the headlights came on. Is there way to disable this stupid feature on the 2014 Fusion, short of snipping wires? Why some designer or engineer would think it's a good idea to dim the dash lights is beyond me. The rotary / push button control does nothing to help. I don't know about others, but I like to see the speedometer, fuel gauge etc. at night as well as daytime.
  7. I spent over 25 years inspecting weights and measures and we got this complaint all the time. What is in the manual is the capacity of an empty, brand new, never installed, perfect tank. These do NOT exist in any car built in thw world. By the time any car gets to the dealer, that tank has been dinged, banged, dented, and what ever else. Second, keep in mind the tank often has a fuel pickup, fuel return, fuel pump, and other things in it.Third, unless the tank is perfectly level fore and aft, side to side, which is not physically possible once it is installed because of all the other items on a car, you will not an accurate reading. Fourth, the fuel gauge on most cars work on electrical resistance, not volumetric. In the US, fuel pumps at fuel stations are allowed 3 cu. in. varince per 5 gallons (1135 cu. in.). Electrical resistance gauges can be affected by humidity, evaporation, condensation, etc. People would also complain about too much fuel going in. The forget to take into account the volume in the filler pipe, the fuel lines, etc.
  8. There were two monroney stickers. The one installed at the factory and the one installed by the dealer. The dealer printed out the build sheet and refused to activate them.
  9. I recently bought a 2014 Fusion S w/ 2.5L. When we went to Cally, we rented a 2015 Fusion Titanium to drive from Frisco to Denver. Frankly, the S is more comfortable as I could not adjust the seats so my knee didn't crack nto that stupid center stack. Any way, when I bought my Fusion, the Dealer Monroney (window sticker) said the the car came with daytime running lights. The Mfg monroney and the build sheet said it didn't. Is it worth forcing the issue with the dealer here in Ohio?
